Chapter 10- No One is Innocent

Luke's P.O.V.

I made it back and was happy it was Saturday. I called into the office and told Ashley, my PA, to give me the run down on the calls I missed. She told me about some meetings I pushed back and then about a Monica rescheduling for lunch.

"Wait a minute... Who is Monica?" I asked with a straight face.

"I thought you knew who she was. She talked like you two knew each other." She sounded confused.

"How long ago did you get that call?"

"Like Wednesday afternoon and instead of rescheduling she said she was going to call you." I knew exactly who it was that called as a Monica. She found out where I was and sent the pictures and video. That sly little vixen.

By time I hung up I was back at my home. I got out the truck and walked inside. I went to my room and unpacked my bags to grab my laptop and cut it on to check my emails. I saw the one from Andrew and opened it. So he did find out about her parents. They both died in a house fire. What the fuck? He's her half brother! So that means his mom that left him met Matthew and birthed Celeste. Wow. That must've been a hard pill to swallow. What's worse is they've been dead since she was 14 and Don never told her. If Andrew was able to pull this information out I know Don could. So the question is why didn't he tell her? Did he have something to do with their deaths? Or was the fire a cover up lie of their actual deaths?

This don't add up to me. Andrew usually tells me everything but this is a touchy topic even for him. I'm going to do some digging myself. I searched up Matthew Hue's company and who took over it and guess who it was.... Donovan Evanston. The only thing is he got someone else to act as the head of the company but he's only the president while Don here is the CEO. However, you have to have signed paperwork with the previous CEO's signature stating that he's giving the company over to you. The time Don got the company is different from the time of the house fire and Matthew disappeared after giving the company over.

I can see Donovan getting rid of loose ends and that being a motive for Matthew death. Then again, I can see Andrew wanting revenge for Matthew knowingly sleeping with a married woman and then taking her to live with him and start a family. It left Andrew with his father who became an alcoholic and when drunk, an abusive parent. It was on the news a few times of him assaulting the maid, paparazzi, or Andrew. I just don't know which one killed Matthew and Jessica then lied about the deaths. Either way Celeste isn't going to be happy about this and Don is going to try and kill me for sure. She deserves to know that she's possibly living with someone who murdered her parents. First, I gotta make a call to see if one of my old workers still work for Don. See what he knows under the table for a fee.

I told Kevin to give me the number to Lewis cell phones since he keeps more than one. An when he dug up the numbers I called each one on a burner phone. It took five fucking tries to get the right one.

"The fuck is this?" Lewis answered angry as usual.

"Your old boss dumbass. I see you haven't changed."

"LUKE YOU WILD FUCKER! How have you been? You need any bodies taken care of?" He sounded enthused to help as usual.

"No you sick fuck and I've been busy. I need to get some information from you under the table. No one will know of this conversation and I'll even pay you two hundred thousand dollars in cash already bagged up."

"... I'm listening." He said lowly.

"Do you know who killed Matthew Hue and Jessica Hue? If so how did they die?" I waited for a good two to five minutes before he answered.

"If I tell you this NO ONE needs to know it was from me. This was told by someone else you hear?" Is he threatening me? It sounds like it but I'll let it slide since he sounds frantic.
