Chapter 2 : Everyone has a Price

After saying that all were quiet and Dr. Gera took off his glasses to listen carefully, Paul seeing that they were all silent told them "nice to finally get a little respect around here and indeed everyone has a price", he had a sly smile on his face. He continued to ask them if they knew what the word "Coup de grace" meant, they both said no, that they haven't heard it anywhere. He said to them maybe EUTHANASIA would ring a bell, Gera asked him that, what does euthanasia has to do with his deal he wanted to offer them. Paul told him not to act like a dweeb because he knew perfectly well what he was trying to mean. Dr. Gera said "what?, that's illegal and why would we do something like that, we're not murders we're doctor and we save people not kill them and isn't your father among the victims?", Paul told him "why aren't you paying any attention doctor, those patients in there including my father are as good as dead and doing this would be showing mercy to them and end their misery, just see for yourself someone is burnt 80 to 90 percent how is he going to survive this?, I'm telling you they wish they could thank us for this". Dr. Gera asked him "what if we rejected your offer?" Nurse Phoebe after a long period of silence said to Dr. Gera "what if you rejected his offer, I'm in", hearing that Paul clapped his hand twice and told Dr. Gera "see everyone has a price, hence my name and if you try to reject my offer you'll die instead of them my friend, and you'll die a terrible death.
I'll cut your body piece by piece until you bleed so much that I'll drown your skull into your own blood till you die, and then after that I'll look for your family and do the same thing all over again, I'm I clear?" Dr. Gera didn't have much of a choice at the moment, he looked deep into Paul's eyes and knew that he wasn't joking at all and asked him "when do we start". Paul with a sly smile told them that he had one other thing to tell them, he wanted someone framed for the whole massacre that's going to happen, and they asked who, he told them, Dr. Philip Solomon. Hearing that both of them were in great shock and Dr. Gera said "but..." before he could finish his sentence, Paul told him "but nothing, do as I say from now and I wouldn't have to butcher your whole family plus you'll get a 100 million shillings as a reward, I think it's pretty fair right Nurse Phoebe" replied nurse phoebe "right". Paul stood up from his seat and left the office while leaving he left them his contacts so that they can send him their account numbers after they did their jobs well. After he was gone Dr. Gera asked Nurse Phoebe "are we doing the right thing?" and she replied, "of course not it's just that we are threatened with our lives and we kind of need the money he offered us". After it reached the night, they went into the ICU and found all the patients in there defenseless not knowing what is going to happen to them, then Dr. Gera instructed Phoebe to use the Secobarbital "the fatal dose" to the patients, after it was done they left. The next day in the morning it was reported in the news that all the patients in the ICU were found dead and someone was responsible for their deaths that he took it upon himself to induce the death serum to the patients. Dr. Gera and Nurse Phoebe said to the police that it was night shift of Dr. Solomon and they suspect that it's him who might have done it. The police arrested Dr. Philip for questioning. After he was arrested, his son came to see him in jail and tried to bail him out but the police didn't accept his bailing because his father was accused of mass murder. The next day Dr. Philip's lawyer Joseph Job came to talk to his client, they talked and Dr. Philip assured Joseph that he was innocent and that it was a frame-up and he doesn't know why his colleagues choose to frame him. Joseph encouraged his client to keep fighting and that he'll do everything in his power to make sure he doesn't go to prison. After they finished talking Dr. Philip was returned to his prison cell and Joseph left, when Joseph was leaving the station he bumped into Benjamin, and Benjamin asked him how the case was going, Joseph told him his father's case was a little bit difficult but he assured him he'll do everything in his power to get him out of that place and that he's working on it. They departed, Ben was going to visit his father but after talking to his father's lawyer he canceled his visit and went back to school, it was still early in the morning. When he reached school, some students who saw the news on TV and gossiped it were staring at him as he walked in school and entered his classroom. He went in and sit on his desk, while in class, some students at the backbenchers started gossiping about his father and that he was a murder, Ben looked back and told them his dad was innocent and that he was framed up.
He took his bag so that he can leave, but Haggai touched his hand and signaled him to stay. After school hours, he took his bag together with Haggai walked out of the classroom and into the bathroom. They washed up and went out on their way home. On their way out of the school they met up with Grace, Grace said "hi" to both of them, they both said "hi" back at her, Grace said sorry to Ben for what is happening to his father and assured Ben that he can count on her for anything, and also told him that she believes what he said earlier in the class that Mr. Solomon was innocent because she believed in Ben and also she saw how nice he was at the gym. Ben was over the moon after hearing that from a girl he has a crush on, and showed gratitude to her for everything she said to him and that he doesn't know what to say but to keep thanking her, he didn't even finish saying what he was saying Grace hugged him, Ben shocked and surprised hugged her back. After all that had happened, Ben and Haggai walked to the bus station, took the bus and went back home. Haggai dropped off first then at the end of the route to the last station is where Ben dropped off. Paul wasn't at school that day he was given a few days off because of what happened to his father, on the day of the funeral Katherine who was the left widow of Mr. Price was so mad that her husband was murdered by someone and planned to avenge her husband. She heard that the person who killed her husband was being transported to court the next day for his first listening, so she planned on kidnapping him and kill him herself.
Because she believed that he didn't deserve to live and prison time wasn't satisfying at all and it was just going to be a pity for him. She planned during his transportation, her men interfere with the process and kidnap Dr. Philip so that she can have her revenge on him herself. The next day it was about 10:00 am, the police escorts were ready and put on their gears and put the prisoner into the police car ready for transportation. The journey started and when they reached a place near a cable-stayed bridge, Katherine's men began following them and they hit the police car from behind that it lost control and crashed into another car. The police driver was unconscious after hitting hard head-first on the wheel, seeing some men coming from behind with guns Dr. Philip knew it was him who was going to die so he head-butted the police who was sitting next to him and took the keys from him to free himself from the handcuffs. After that he got out of the car and they started shooting at him so he dived into that big river from the bridge and Katherine's men began shooting at him in the river but came Apollo who was the leader of Katherine's men and told them to stop shooting and remember Katherine wanted that man alive so that she can kill him herself. After they failed to catch Dr. Philip they returned to Katherine and Apollo told her what happened, Katherine told him she didn't care what happened they need to go back to that river and find Dr. Solomon alive and insisted that she'll be the one to kill him and not them and gave Apollo a huge amount of cash if he might need it in the mission and told them if the police try to interfere with her plan they should take them down too.
