"Mom, I have a surprise for you!" Anne excitedly barged into the door just before the drops of rain finally came.

"Hey, what have you got here?" Carol was smiling at Bryan with an expression that was more than welcoming.

"Mom, his name is Bryan! I met him in the pathway at the Cricket Forest." Anne announced.

"What brought you here, Boy?" Carol asked. "Do you have companions?" She continued.

"I was sent on an errand." Bryan replied.

"What do you mean errand? Who could have sent you and to whom?"

"Do you know Mark Chrome?" Bryan asked.

"Mark Chrome?" Carol momentarily lost her composure.

"Where is he? I want to see him?" Carol could not help but ask.

The reason Carol went out of this forested sanctuary was actually to find Mark.

"Mom, who is Mark Chrome?" Anne curiously asked. She never heard her mom talk about anyone before with such eagerness.

"Mark Chrome is my father." Bryan volunteered. He told me to find a certain Carol here in Bugsy Hollow.

"Good gracious! I am Carol. So, Mark got married? How old are you, Bryan?"

"I'm eighteen." Bryan replied.

"That cannot be...unless..." Carol was deep in thought but decided to keep them to herself.

"Why don't you bring me to him?" Carol suggested. Anne and I will pack something so we can leave at once.

The trip was uneventful. Bryan placed his mountain bike at the back compartment of Carol's Ford Pick-up.

Anne couldn't ask for any explanations as Bryan would hear everything they'd be discussing.

Aside from a few directions given by Bryan as to where to turn and where to go, the trip was done in silence. All three of them lost in their own questions and wild guesses.
