Hello. It's been so long since the last time I wrote a story. I don't know what magic JenLisa have that they made me broke my dry spell and started to write again. Hope you enjoy this story as much as I have enjoyed writing it. Feedback will be greatly appreciated. More to come because I am feeling inspired.

*The four times Jennie asked Lisa to pick her up and the one time she doesn't have to.*

*******************************************

The studio is eerily quiet, with only the dim lights reflecting Jennie's exhausted form back at her in the mirror. Midnight had come and gone, and the weight of fatigue pressed heavily on her shoulders. She should have left with Chaeng and Jisoo hours ago, but her drive for perfection in her solo debut kept her there. Her mind swirled with the pressure of expectations, the constant need to meet the public's approval, and the fear of inevitable scrutiny. Making her fans happy came at a cost she knew all too well.

Sighing deeply, she finally relented, deciding to call it a night. After a quick shower, Jennie reached for her phone, intending to call her manager when she noticed a text.

From Manager Unnie: Hey Jen, I know you won't read this until you're done, but I can't pick you up tonight. Something urgent came up. Please take a cab home. Be discreet. Sorry for the short notice. Be safe.

She sighed again, heavier this time. Getting a cab at this hour would be tricky. Scrolling through her contacts, her thumb hovered over Kai's name. She hesitated. They were still fighting, and despite needing a ride, calling him didn't feel right. Pushing the thought aside, she pocketed her phone and began walking out of the studio, hoping to find a cab.

As soon as she stepped outside, her phone buzzed again.

From Lisa: Touchdown in SoKor, girls! No paps at this hour 🙈. I'm definitely booking night flights from now on. Peace out!

Jennie's eyes widened, realizing Lisa was back from her trip to Thailand. An idea formed in her head. She quickly opened Lisa's contact and began typing.

To Lisa: Hey poo, where are you?

The reply came faster than expected.

From Lisa: Jendeukie! I'm at the airport's parking lot, can you believe they finally let me drive my car?! Months of begging! What's up?

Jennie chuckled at Lisa's rambling, as always. Even in text, she had a way of babbling.

To Lisa: I'm still at the studio, and I can't get home because manager unnie is busy. I didn't want to call a cab. Can you pick me up? I know you're tired, though.*

A pause stretched out before Lisa replied.

From Lisa: Jen, it's past 1AM. Why didn't you call Kai?

Jennie's heart skipped a beat. She didn't want to dive into the details of her fight with Kai, especially not with Lisa.

To Lisa: He's got a busy day tomorrow. I didn't want to wake him. It's fine, I can just call a cab if it's too much trouble.

Jennie waited, knowing Lisa wouldn't buy her excuse, but she hoped it would suffice. Her phone buzzed again.

From Lisa: Hmmm. Fine. Go somewhere safe. I'll be there in 15.

Jennie sighed in relief but blinked in confusion. The airport was at least 25 minutes away. How was Lisa already so close?

To Lisa: Thanks, poo. But how are you 15 minutes away?

From Lisa:When I saw your text, I left immediately. I'm almost there.

Jennie's heart fluttered unexpectedly. Every time Lisa said something sweet like this, Jennie's chest tightened in a way she couldn't explain. She shook her head, trying to calm her racing thoughts.
