Hello, part 2 is up! Will try to update on the weekdays. I have a work that needs my 200% attention on the weekdays so it's gonna be hard. I know this isn't exactly fluff. But bear with me please. We'll get there. 😉
*The four times Jennie asked Lisa to pick her up and the one time she doesn't have to.*
*********************************************
Jennie was having dinner with Kai at an upscale, exclusive restaurant in Gangnam-gu. With their hectic schedules over the past few months, moments like this—just the two of them—had become a rare treat. She had specifically requested the evening off after Kai had repeatedly asked for a night together. So far, the quiet dinner had been pleasant.
"I'm really glad we could do this tonight. I've missed you, and I'm tired of having to rely on video calls just to see you," Jong-in said as they shared dessert. Jennie responded with a tight smile. In truth, things had been tense between them lately. Constant fights, conflicting schedules, and the pressure of keeping their relationship private made nights out almost impossible, especially with the ever-present threat of paparazzi.
"Me too. Nights like this are exactly what we need," Jennie said, finishing off her dessert. They had spent the evening catching up, sharing stories about their tours and upcoming projects. Everything seemed to be going well until Kai received a message from his friends. He glanced at his phone, then scratched his forehead before turning off the screen. Sensing something off, Jennie asked cautiously, "Is everything okay? Was that about the message?"
Kai shook his head. "No, nothing's wrong. I just forgot to mention—the boys and I are going clubbing tonight, and they invited you to come along. Don't worry, it's super exclusive. No one will see us."
Jennie frowned. "I thought tonight was supposed to be just the two of us. I specifically asked for a quiet night, Jong-in. Clubbing isn't exactly quiet," she whispered, leaning in to make sure no one overheard. "You should've asked me first if I was okay with it."
"They're my friends. If you asked me to hang out with your friends, I'd do it too," Kai whispered back defensively.
"The difference is, I would ask you beforehand. I'd give you the choice. You're springing this on me last minute so I can't say no. Classic you, Jong-in," Jennie hissed.
Kai sighed, frustrated. "Are we really going to argue about this? We won't stay long. We'll just hang out for a bit and leave. Stop making this such a big deal."
"I'm not making it a big deal. You're not listening to me. I wanted a quiet night, and you're trying to drag me to a club. You're taking away my choice. Do you not see the problem?" Jennie said angrily, her voice low but firm. "This whole night is a waste of time." She leaned back in her chair, staring down at her lap.
Kai's eyes darkened. "I get why people sometimes call you a bitch," he snapped, causing Jennie's eyes to widen in shock. "Stay here. I'm leaving. Enjoy your quiet night," he spat before walking out, leaving her stunned.
Jennie stood there, stunned, unable to believe what she'd just heard from her own boyfriend. Tears threatened to spill, but she tilted her head up, determined not to let his words get to her. With a deep breath, she grabbed her purse and walked out of the restaurant.
It wasn't until she stepped outside that she remembered Kai had driven her there—he was her ride home. Sighing, she reached into her bag for her phone to call her manager. As she unlocked the screen, she noticed a missed call and a text from Lisa from about an hour and a half ago.
**From Lisa:**
*Hey Jen, I need some fashion advice. I tried calling, but I guess your phone's on silent. Call me when you can? I'd ask Jisoo unnie, but, well, you know how that goes. Thanks.*
