Last part of Pick Me Up (Chapter 5)! I have another story in mind but I don't know when will I be able to write and publish it. But for now, enjoy the last part of the Pick Me Up series. Thank you to everyone who supported this.

*The four times Jennie asked Lisa to pick her up and the one time she doesn't have to.*

*******************************************

"Lisa, come on. You've been ignoring Jennie for weeks. Just talk to her already," Jisoo said, following Lisa into the kitchen.

"I don't know what to say to her, Chu. And I'm not ignoring her. We do interact," Lisa defended herself.

It had been three weeks since that fateful night, and she had to admit—at least to herself—that she was avoiding Jennie. After confessing her feelings with those three dreaded words, she was at a loss for how to proceed. She had always imagined that when she finally told Jennie how she felt, it would be in a special way and at the perfect moment. That night was anything but. Jisoo's heavy sigh interrupted her thoughts.

"You're only interacting with her for the cameras, Lisa. Sooner or later, fans will notice you're avoiding her. We've been out for a week, and it's obvious you're both not smiling in front of the cameras. Chaeng and I have been covering for you both, but for the sake of our sanity, can you just make up already?" Jisoo said, exasperated.

"I'm sorry, Chu. We'll be fine. We'll get back to normal soon, you'll see. I appreciate your concern and support, but I'll talk to her when we're both ready. Now, I'm going to bed. Goodnight." Lisa hurried away from Jisoo, eager to escape the rest of her lecture.

The truth was, she didn't know how to approach Jennie after her confession. She was certain Jennie didn't feel the same way. Lisa had been in love with Jennie since their trainee days, but she still wanted to hear Jennie's thoughts, even if she suspected that any discussion would ultimately break her heart.

Her thoughts were interrupted when a door suddenly swung open, revealing the very person she had been trying to avoid.

Jennie looked at Lisa, about to say something, but Lisa swiftly walked to her room and closed the door. This was a familiar pattern; their rooms were right next to each other, and for the past week, Lisa had been tiptoeing around Jennie whenever they encountered each other. Jennie sighed, exasperated by their interactions.

Once Jennie was certain Lisa wouldn't come out, she headed downstairs for a snack before binge-watching a show in her room. They had the weekend off, which allowed them to avoid going out. At least this scandal had given them some downtime—an unexpected silver lining.

As she approached the kitchen, she overheard Jisoo and Rosie talking quietly.

"She won't budge unless we do something," Jennie heard Jisoo say.

"I know, Chu. She's stubborn. But I can't blame her; keeping her feelings hidden is tough. With everything that's happened, it must be a lot for her," Rosie replied.

"I understand it's hard for her, but sulking won't solve anything. They're both being foolish. Anyone with eyes can see how much they mean to each other, Rosie. Even we noticed it. Why can't they?" Jisoo asked.

"I don't know, Chu. But I think Jennie-unnie is still figuring out—"

"Figuring out what, Chaengie?" Jennie interrupted, finally revealing her presence in the kitchen.

"Were you eavesdropping, Jendeuk? That's not very nice," Jisoo said, acknowledging that their conversation was indeed about her.

"I was eavesdropping," Jennie admitted unabashedly. "And I know exactly what you're talking about. I'll tell you both now, Chaeng and Chu, that I don't need to figure anything out." She casually began pulling snacks and drinks from the fridge.

Jisoo and Chaeng exchanged puzzled glances, confusion clear on their faces.

"What do you mean by that?" Rosie asked.

"I don't need to figure out something I've long accepted. The timing isn't perfect or even ideal, but I've known for a while," Jennie replied.

"You mean... you knew all along?" Rosie and Jisoo echoed in disbelief.

Jennie closed the fridge door and sighed. "I was waiting for her to tell me the whole truth. I wanted to hear everything from her. After I broke up with Jongin, I started paying closer attention to Lisa. I realized I was developing feelings for her that I shouldn't have, and I thought it was just me. You know I'd never jeopardize our friendship by acting on those feelings. I hoped that by the New Year, we'd finally clear the air, but that plan fell apart."

Jisoo and Rosie exchanged shocked looks, taking a moment to process Jennie's revelation. Once they recovered, they broke into wide smiles.

"Oh my gosh! Our ship is finally going to sail, Chaengie!" Jisoo exclaimed joyfully.

"I feel like crying," Rosie said, trying to wipe away happy tears. "Crap, I am crying."

"Yes, Lisa might take some time to work up the courage to talk to me properly, but I don't mind. She loved me without asking for anything in return since our trainee days. If she can love and wait for me that long, I can do the same," Jennie said to Jisoo and Rosie.

"If Lisa talks to you now, you two could finally be together. But that girl is hopeless. Why don't you just make the first move, Jendeuk?" Jisoo suggested.

Jennie laughed and shook her head. "Chu, I may have feelings for Lisa, but she needs to resolve her issues first before we start anything. A lady doesn't make the first move, Chu. You should remember that." She smirked and looked at Chaeng, who was rummaging through the fridge for a snack. Jisoo caught the hint and playfully flipped Jennie off as she helped Chaeng.

Chaeng turned to Jennie while opening her snack. "If you wait for Lisa, it might take a while, unnie."

"That's okay, Chaengie. I've hurt her enough, whether intentionally or not. I'm willing to wait as patiently as I can because I know Lisa is worth it." Jennie spoke with conviction, feeling surer of her feelings for Lisa than ever before.
