"Who's idea was it to make people come to school so early in the morning?" I whined.

We were parked in the student parking lot eating our Mcdonalds breakfast while waiting for Derek and Trish's friends to show up.

Derek was playing Big Sean's I Don't Fuck With You on the radio and nodding his head to the beat. I nodded my head too but this really wasn't my kind of music. I didn't really like rap music that much, I may listen to it here and there but not really.

I finished off the rest of my fruit parfait and put my trash in my Mcdonald's bag. Trish hadn't talked the whole car ride here. I was starting to wonder if she and Derek got into an argument last night, but if that was the case then he would've been trying to talk to her. I scrolled through the text messages she sent me last night that I had ignored but I didn't see anything about Derek.

Christine came speeding into the parking lot and swerved into a park next to us. Derek threw open the door of his Camri and jumped out, "What the hell is wrong with you? Speeding in here like that. You tryna hit my car?"

"I know how to drive." Christine snapped getting out of her car with the twins and Veronica.

"You better hope that hooptie is covered with insurance the way you drive."

Christine kissed her teeth and made her way over to Trish who was getting out of the car.

"We got here as fast as we could, let's go." Christine said linking her arm with Trish.

Derek and I exchanged looks.

"Um I think y'all forgetting someone!" He called after them.

Christine turned her head and scrunched up her face as they kept walking.

"Damn that's messed up."

I got out of the car rolling my eyes. "It's whatever."

"But hey, what's going on with P?"

"I don't know she's your girlfriend." I said sounding annoyed.

"Yeah and she's your best friend."

I shrugged, fixed the scarf around ny neck, and walked off. Whatever it was, she'd tell me later. It was kind of weird though that she told her minions first before me.

I threw my trash in the trashcan and went inside the building. We were supposed to be having a pep rally today since it was Friday.

"Mya!"

Turning the corner and walking with Ian was my friend Denise. She had on her cheerleader uniform and her natural hair was tied up in a pink ribbon. It was Ian who called my name. As usual, he always saw me first before I saw him.

"Here we go, team light skin." Ian grinned throwing his arms around me and Denise.

"Oh gosh no, I do not follow that stuff up." I said shaking my head.

"I see you're not walking with your other squad today."

"Those girls are not my friends, they're Trish's friends." I frowned.

"I don't see why you hang around them anyway." Denise was one of my closest friends, although we can't remember how we met but have so much in common.

"I'm only around them for Trish. I could care less about her little ass kissers."

"Well dang, you real." Ian laughed.

I shrugged, I wasn't trying to be funny. A day without Trish would be the end of the world to her minions.
