The smell of pastries filled the small bakery. The Ladybug Cafe, famous for its sweets was in the middle of the most romantic cities in the world, Paris. Twenty year old Marinette was the proud owner and baker of the little place. Her mother and father taught her all she needed to know about running a small town business with success. Her parents owned and ran a large bakery but figured by age eighteen it was time for their little girl to get out in the world of pastries to make her own sweet creations. which led her father Tom to buy a little tea shop and turn it into a bakery and cafe. Marinette enjoyed fixing up the place and making it her own, she was grateful to have the chance to prove to herself. she enjoyed creating sweets and making people smile but her heart belong to fashion. she desperately wanted to be a fashion designer and hoped one day she could live out her dream but for now she was content with making cakes, pies and bread. "Marinette he is here!" A high pitch voice called to her as she pulled a pie fresh from the oven. Marinette almost dropped the pie at her words but the redhead helped her set it down gently. "Thanks Tikki..." She smiled at her close friend and helper. "they're at a corner booth in like always ordered whatever just popped out of the oven." Marinette took a peek outside the round window that allowed the view of the blond hair model "Adrien..." Tikki giggled, "I already gave them their coffee they're just waiting on the pie." "Pie... Pie... Right the pie!" Marinette snapped herself out of her dream like state and swiftly turned back to the cooling pie. She put whipped cream and freshly sliced lemon on the warm lemon pie before cutting two large slices and allowing Tikki to take it to the table. Marinette watched with a goofy simle as Adrien sat and talked with his bodyguard while Tikki waited on the few other table. Adrien was a well knowing model and a fashion designer, creator of the Black Kats fashion line. He was her inspiration since she first found her love for fashion. he started coming to her bakery shortly after it opened and due to his constant visit to the bakery her little business was hopping. Marinette watch Tikki roll her eyes in an annoyed sassy way as she returned for more pastries. "I swear he calls me sugar cube one more time and I am dumping an entire iced coffee on his head... He's supppse to be guarding Adrien not flirting!" Marinette get a small laugh, "oh come on... Its kind of cute... You know you think so too." Tikki huffed more feeling her trays with cupcakes and cookies for the customers. "Not in a million years he's anything but cute... but since it's kind of calm right now why don't you go talk to Adrien ask him out and show her designs!" The redhead winked at her making the blunette blush. "M-me?? no! I can't I'm a mess! Flour egg sugar all over me! He'll just laugh and I don't know what else to say to him..." Tikki sighed "scaredy cat... Hi would be a start..." "I'll say hi another time..." She claimed, "maybe tomorrow..." Tikki rolled her eyes as she left to serve the guest. "Whatever..."
The little cafe closed at five and after cleaning up for the night they left to return to the small apartment they shared as roommates. The next morning Marinette woke bright and early to start baking, Tikki served the few to-go orders that came and went until Tikki when it was time for the fashion designer and his annoying body guard to stop by. They came at the same time every day and sat in the same spot, ordering whatever was the freshes treat every day but he was running late. "Marinette freshen up before he gets here, I can watch it for now." Tikki told her making her friend nod. She went to the bathroom and washed the mix of egg and flour on her hands and face before changing her cute messy pink apron to cute clean pink apron. She sighed and smiled before she began to help wait tables with Tikki. All the pastries that they would make today were finished with and just in time for their rush hour but it never lasted long and soon died down again. Marinette and Tikki both let out a sigh. "He didn't come today..." "He's probably busy maybe he had a fashion show." Tikki tried to reassure her before the bell chimed, notifying them they had a new customer. Marinette caught his crystal blue aqua eyes making her blush and heart beat alittle faster. "I was wondering if you had any blue berry muffins?" Marinette's words were stuck in her throat as she stared at the rockstar looking guy that stood near the door. "Yes we do. Would you like to sit down and have a cup of coffee with it or are you taking your order to go?" Tikki asked sweetly. "You guys don't seem too busy right now I think I'll stay for a bit it's nice here. I like the vibe and decor." He took a seat near a window and waited patiently. Tikki smiled at him and elbowed her friend when she noticed her just standing there like a dummy. "Marinette... The muffins..." She whispered. "Muffins right muffins! Coming right up!" She gave an awkward giggle and clumsy made her way back behind the doors that separated the dinning area from the baking. Tikki served the new customer a cup of coffee and even giggled before skipping off to get his muffin. "I need a slice of sour apple crumble cake along with that muffin. He has a cute friend " Marinette gave a nod as she did as requested before Tikki nudged her. "He's cute you wait on him..." Marinette blushed, "m-me? No... I'm so awkward it's best that you do it..." Tikki huffed but didn't press her further and took the tray. The blunette peeked out the window to look at the new customer. She never saw him before. He stood out to say the least; black hair that has dyed teal blue tips dressed in black and leather. He gave off a kind but mysterious vibe. "Cute..." She whispered to herself before she caught Tikki winking at her making her blush and swiftly turn around to pay attention to the pastries. She always became flustered around cute boys. Adrien the model, Nathaniel the local artist and now a rockstar. They were all the same making her blush and look like a fool. She huffed as she began to icing a cake. She could hear Tikki giggle on the other side of the wall. Tikki was bubble and social perfect for dealing with customers but couldn't cook to save her life while Marinette was clumsy and awkward but great in a kitchen, they made a perfect team. they met years ago in school and have been close ever since they loved working together and living together. Marinette smiled at the memories before Tikki stuck her head in the door, "that guy that you are so star-struck about that word the muffin wants to talk to you..." Panic immediately sit in the blunette's mind. Wondering if the muffin wasn't to his liking or if something went wrong. She quickly put her tube of icing down and rushed out to meet him. He sat by the window talking to a guy with long black hair in a ponytail with streaks of sea green in his hair. His eyes a soft calm green. They look to be engrossed in a pleasant conversation and Marinette felt awkward interrupting. "Um... Is something wrong?" The rockstar looked at her with a warm smile. "The opposite. I apologize for taking you away from work I know you're probably really busy but I just wanted to thank you personally for the sweets. They were great. This is the first time we have been in Paris and i wanted something sweet before the concert tonight. This was great so... thank you. I'll definitely have to bring my bandmates here before we leave." "Oh..." Marinette blushed at his words. He seemed a bit shy and awkward talking to her but she sounded kind of cute. "Am I allowed to know your name?" He asked. "M-me? I'm... I'm Ma-Ma Marinette." She replied. "Well mamaMarinette. I'm Luka. It's nice to meet you." He flashed a smile but she shied away at his reply before his friend thumped his arm. "Don't be mean..." "Sorry! I wasn't making fun of you. I... I thought it was cute um... Let me make it up to you are you free tonight I'll give you passes to the concert? You and a friend can come." He apologized and grabbed tickets from his jacket pocket. "Here. I'm sorry... Really..." "Oh no no it's ok um..." "We happily accept your tickets will be there." Tikki came out of nowhere and snatch the tickets up and put an arm around Marinette shoulders to calm her. "Great. I better go thanks for the muffin it was great." He and his friend stood before leaving the guy in the ponytail turned around and gave a wave making Tikki wave back. "Thanks for eating at The Ladybug Cafe and please come again!" "Four please." He voiced. "Right..." Marinette showed them to one of their bigger booths Adrian sat down with the three girls. "You were right. This place is so cute!" The brunette said with a smile.
