chapter 2: mixed berry tarts

Author's note: I originally wasn't going to update this until tomorrow night buuutttt I finished early so enjoy!

Marinette enjoyed the concert but had trouble waking up the next day for work but Tikki was her normal ray of of sunshine eager to work. The blunette was sluggish for the first few hours until her few cups of coffee kicked in. It was a busy morning that keep her on her toes but by two it had finally calmed down. Luka soon arrived for a smoothie along with his band members and equipment crew. "This place is sooo cute!" The short blonde voiced as she held on to shy dark haired girl. Tikki happily greeted them and pushed a few tables together before taking their order. "Is Marinette here?" Luka asked. Tikki nodded. "Yes, I'll let her know you are here." She smiled at Sass before leaving the group to chat. Marinette was topping tarts with berries when Tikki popped her head in the door. "Luka wants to see you." Marinette gave a smile and without thinking walked out to see what he wanted while Tikki made smoothies. "Hey there." She greeted awkwardly. Luka looked at her a moment and smile. "Hard at work... That's inspiring. I don't want to bother you I just wanted to say hi..." He claimed before the short blonde elbowed him making Luka rub his neck. "And... Maybe see when your off day is... I don't want to be pushy but I would like to get to know you. If you are okay with that, I'm only in Paris for a few days and since you live here you probably know the places to go." She smiled. "Im off tomorrow. We could meet here and I could show you around... If you like." "I'd love that." He smiled. "oh... I haven't properly introduced you to everyone. This is my sister Juleka, her girlfriend Rose, and my friend Ivan. And these four did all the crazy special effects behind our performance last night. Roaar, Daizzi, Stompp... And you have met Sass." Marinette gave a wave to them before tucking a piece of hair behind her ear, "well... I better get to work I'll see you tomorrow." She walked off just is tiki a ride with the smoothies. "Okay I have two creamy strawberry smoothies, two razzle dazzle raspberry smoothies, two mysterious blackberry smoothies and two very berry blueberry smoothies." Tikki said and she handed the smoothies to the customers. "Enjoy!" She began to walk off before the Bell chimed again. "Ohhh sugar cube... Your Tom cat is here..." "Go choke on cubed cheese..." She muttered making him chuckle. "I love it when you hate me. Blondie will be in any minute he's finishing a phone conversation with his daddy dearest... corner booth as usual, coffee with whatever's fresh as always..." Plagg plopped down as if he owned the place making her huff and walk away. He saw Sass and sighed but was too lazy to attempt to leave without food first. Adrien soon joined him not even noticing the group. Tikki brought them their coffee as always and Adrien smiled at her like always but as she walked away he called. "Hey Tikki... Is Marinette busy? I was hoping she could sit with me a minute. I never did get to finish talking to her last night." Tikki raised her brow at him. "mr. Agreste... Don't take me as rude but this is a cafe... She's a baker not a hostess at some social club." Adrien blush a bright shade of red, "no um... Not like that I just well I wanted to... To ask her out... On a date. She looked really pretty last night... I want to get to know her." Tikki squealed in her head but cleared her throat. "Okay give me one minute let me make sure she's not busy." She calmly walked away but couldn't help but jump for joy when she walked through the doors. "Marinette!" She whispered in an excited tone. "Adrien's here he wants to talk to you!" Marinette almost dropped a bowl of berries at her words but Tikki caught them, "go on go talk to him!" Marinette took a deep breath and went to freshen up before approching his table with tarts. "Hello Adrien... Hello Plagg." She greeted more formal than necessary feeling awkward. "hi..." Adrien gave a smile before Plagg nudged him "um... I was wondering. Would you like to maybe join me for dinner tomorrow night?" "R-really? M-me? Um... Uh... Sure sure I'd really really really like that!" She gave a nervous smile and he smiled back. "Okay I'll pick you up at seven?" She nodded before her shaking hands put down the plate of tarts and walked away. She fell to the floor when she reached the doors. "Oh my God oh my God oh my God oh my God..." Tikki giggled. "You did great!" "Oh my God Tikki!! A date with Adrien the Adrien Agreste! What do I do? More importantly what do I wear?!" She grabbed her head as more panic set inside her already nervous state. "Relax we'll have plenty of time to pick out an outfit after you give Luka and his bandmates a tour remember?" "Luka right! Tour with Luka!" She took a deep breath. "Okay... I have to figure out what I'm going to wear to that too and where I should take them." Marinette continued her job as she thought of what to do. Luka and his bandmates seemed to chill quietly at their table before leaving. Plagg and Adrien finished their tarts and left not too long after band leaving the little cafe almost empty giving Marinette and Tikki a little time to clean the table and counters until the bell chimed again. Marinette smiled then gave a shocked look to see Luka for the second time that day. "I forgot. Here is my contact information so you can tell us when you are available, I'm sure you're a busy girl." Marinette gave a goofy smile and took the card. "Thanks... Um I'll tall you tomorrow... Call you tomorrow!" Luka gave a nod and left with a wave. "he's smooth..." Tikki giggled. "What?" The blunette girl asked. "He totally just gave you his number Mari. I think he might like you a little." The red headed girl teased making her blush. "As if... He's a rockstar. I'm sure he has a model girl friend or something." Marinette brushed the thought off and went back to work. Tikki rolled his eyes "and you don't think a fashion designer model has no girlfriend?? what about all those girls we saw him with? He could be with all of them..." Marinette paused a moment and stared at her. "Or they could just be friends of his him... He asked me out Me! Oh God Tikki he asked me out!" She gripped her baking tray making the red head huffed and said nothing more she got back to work. Tikki knew the blunette would be freaking about the outing with the blonde until after the date was over. She was rooting for her friend knowing how much Marinette liked the Adrien and Tikki thought he was a decent guy a little socially awkward at times but very nice a perfect gentleman at least that's what she collected from her encounters with him. They closed the bakery around five as normal before Marinette went back to their little apartment in begin tearing clothes out of the closet frantically trying to put outfits together for the next day Tikki watch with amusement and try to help. Marinette settled on a pair of pink polka-dotted shorts a white semi dressy tank and comfortable shoes knowing she would be walking around the lovely city. She picked a semi dressy pink and white cocktail dress with white flats. "Thats a cute dress. "I bet he'll find you so cute! Ill fix your hair and paint your nails but for now get some rest." Tikki smiled. Marinette gave a nod. "Thank uou, you are the best. I'll see you in the morning!" They went their separate ways and Marinette went to sleep satisfied with her outfit. Tikki eagerly woke her the next morning to meet up with Luka and his band mates. "You seem a little too excited. Does it have anything to do with Sass?" Marinette teased playfully making Tikki blush as pink as her hair. "Sass and i go way back even before I met you... I have history with him just as I do that lazy good for nothing Tomcat Plagg..." She huffed the last part before smiling. "get ready so we can go meet them. I'm sure Luka is excited to see you." Marinette's cheeks turned pink and she gave a nod. "right." Marinette had to admit Luka was nice very nice but she knew he would soon be leaving. She couldn't get attached to him. She dressed but left her hair down. They left and went to the ladybug bakery. They only had to wait before a moment a van pulled up. "Alright me mateys you get an ol eye full before we ship off!" A woman shouted. She smiled at Marinette and Tikki. "Ahoy take good care of em fur me!" both girls looked at each other and then smiled at the woman and gave a nod. Rose giggled as she stepped off the van. "Thanks for the ride captain!" "Always me fair pass!" The van drove away with a honk of it's horn once all the people were off. Marinette smiled at the group before her blue eyes met Luka's "was that your driver?" "Well actually she's my mom. She and Jagged go way back but she likes to drive us around. Shall we began?" Marinette gave a nod. "right..." I couldn't help but kept staring at him and his cute get up that he had until Tikki elbowed her. "Mari... The tour." "Oh right!
First stop the Louvre museum!" Marinette led the way awkwardly with Tikki by her side and the others following behind her. She couldn't help but feel odd but after one glimpse of their happy faces she felt more at ease and comfortable talking about the city she adored. They took a few pictures of the sights and even comments on the new places before they finally settled a small Cafe. "grevin wax museum was my favorite!" Ivan spoke up. "Mine was the montparnasse tower! What was yours Juleka?"
"palace of Versailles..." She whispered her reply and tucked a piece of hair behind her ear. Marinette listened to them excitedly talk but noticed Tikki talking with Sass and the behind the scenes crew. Marinette noted she looked at home when she was with them and wondered about her past. Of course she would never ask knowing it was none of her business but couldn't help but wonder. Luka touched her shoulder light. "thank you for this. I hope we don't cut into your date time." Marinette gave a small smile. "Don't worry about it... I've had a fun time today. What was your favorite place?" "other than ladybug Cafe with you standing in front of it... Id say... Arc de Triomphe. It was pretty cool." He smiled making her blush. "I um... Yeah Arc de Triomphe is pretty school... Cool." Luka gave a light chuckle. "You know. You are a funny girl. I like that about you. I'm kind of sad to leave this place. I wish I could stay alittle longer. I still have much I'd like to see." "Well we can continue sight seeing a bit more if you want." She offered with the shy blush. "That'd be cool but I think my band has done more walking and they have done in a lifetime." "You and Mari go! We will catch up!" Rose smiled. "Are you sure?" Luka asked. "Of course go enjoy your time we will be fine!" She assured. Luka shrugged and looked at Marinette who smiled at him. "Well... What do you say?" "Let's go." She led the way and they left the cafe for more sight seeing. "Where are you going next?" She asked. "I never know it's always a surprise but it keeps things exciting." He replied then let out a sigh. "Jagged use to stay in Paris alot but now with us he travels alot I guess he wants us to get a feel of all the different places before settling somewhere and that makes sense. it sounds kind of dumb but I think I'm pretty much stuck here I don't think I'll find any other place as great as this one..." Marinette smiled. "really? It is nice here but still there's much of the world I don't know about either." "Maybe you'll get to travel one day. Go to London or Italy atleast. America would be nice. New York has it's moments." "Maybe..." She lightly nudged him making him chuckle as they continued their walk. He looked at the sun and sighed. "I better get you back home. I'm sure Tikki will be out late with Sass and the others since she doesn't see them anymore. I hope your date goes well." Marinette looked at her phone she only had an hour to get home and get ready before Adrien would be picking her up she tried to stay calm but was a nervous wreck inside of how she would be able to get ready in time without Tikki. Luka touched her shoulder. "I'm sure you'll have a great time... Come on." he walked her home with a smile on his face. "Bye! Maybe we can stay in touch." She gave a small nod before going inside. she shut the door with a happy sigh, right before she frantically began to get ready.

Adrien was soon calling her wanting directions to her apartment. She stumbled over her words but gave him the directions. She anxiously waited for the knock at her door. Marinette tried not to pace back and forth but with no Tikki to calm her nerves she couldn't help but over think. "What if I'm too under dressed? What if he doesn't like my outfit? What if I don't like the restaurant? What if I become the total klutz and I am in completely ruined dinner?! Ohhh! I should change clothes! I should cancel!" She started to rush back to her room before she heard a gentle knock on her door making her stop in her tracks. "Crap!" She shouted to herself. "Marinette?" A muffed voiced called. She took a few deep breaths and nerves opened the door. Their eyes met and he smiled at her. "Wow... You look great. I mean beautiful. I like your outfit and hair." He seemed a little nervous and awkward himself which made her. Smile. "Thank you... You look good too..." "Shall we?" He offered her his arm which she happily took before he walked her to his fancy car where the driver waited to take them to Le Coupe-Chou a romantic restaurant with a cozy classy feel. He pulled out her chair before they looked over the menu. "I'm really glad you agreed... I've honestly been working up the nerve to ask you out for weeks now. That's why I'm constantly in the cafe well minus the good food and Plagg wanting to see Tikki... Anyways I'm just glad you gave me a chance." Marinette couldn't believe her ears it what he was saying. "really?" She asked he gave a sheepish nod yes. "I don't want to sound creepy or anything but... You are a big inspiration to me. I really wanted to get to know you as a person." His personality changed slightly at her words and he leaned on the table, his shyness was replaced with flirty. "i guess it's a good thing we are doing this..." They ate and drank as they talked, getting to know each other. Marinette found his jokes and puns corny but she could look past it because that was just part of who he was. She also thought he seemed into her just by the way he casually touched her hand and blushed occasionally. She learned despite how popular he was and how famous he was. He grew up sheltered and he himself was still figuring life out just as she was. Adrien rubbed his neck when he finally looked at his watch. "I guess i should get you back. I have a photo shoot tomorrow so maybe tomorrow after that I'll give you a call and we could meet up. I'd like to see some of your designs." Marinette nodded trying to contain her excitement. "that sounds great... Um I have work tomorrow so I'll see you in the cafe same time as always." "Perfect." They left the restaurant and the driver drove in silence. Marinette looked out the window until she saw her apartment and smiled at Adrien. He opened her car door like a gentleman and walked her to her apartment. They stood awkwardly for a moment in silence before he grabbed her hand and places a sweet light kiss on her knuckles making her face turn blood red. He smiled at her. "goodnight my princess. I hope you had a good night." She was speechless at first and her knees felt like Jell-O. "Marinette... I'm sorry did i over step... I... I am sorry... I didn't mean too. This is my first actual date with a girl I actually like. I'm nervous and honestly clueless was that too forward?" He stepped back and apologized to her sincerely making Marinette snap out of her fantasy world. "Oh no no no no! You are fine! It was fine! I just wasn't expecting it! This is been my first real date since... Well forever so um... I'm... Well... Good night! I'll talk to you tomorrow." He gave a nod and they went their separate ways. Marinette side and leaned up against the door once she was inside. She thought overall it went well in fact it went better than she could imagine meineke ending being a bit awkward. She smiled at her hand until she received a text. She looked at her phone thinking it was Tikki telling her when she would be home but instead it was a text from Luka. "hey I really appreciate you taking the time on your day off to show me and my band around Paris, we owe you a big thanks. I hope your date is goin good and that you have a good night : ^)"
She couldn't help but smile at this week text message. she texted him back before getting ready for bed knowing she had a long day ahead of her tomorrow. "today was a really good day... Can't wait to tell Tikki about it."

Author's note: okay so 2nd chapter FINALLY up! I'll try to update again this week because this story is going to be 20chapters but I'm also working on other stories so bare with me. I hope you enjoyed the chapter.
