(Made it to ten chapters guys!) 😀
Wesley Luke felt he had officially exhausted all his options. Photos revealed that a total number of 23 women had been wearing red lipstick the night of the murder. Most had already come in and had their DNA tested, and the office had been pleasantly surprised at how willing each suspect appeared to help solve the mystery of this spiralling crime. So far, Alice had reported that the DNA samples revealed no significant leads.
Only one suspect had not yet come in, but it was the famed actress Madame Lorington, and they suspected her busy schedule had inhibited her arrival, and she would be coming in within several days. Wesley noticed that the office appeared somewhat more crowded with her impending visit. Even some detectives who normally worked from home were here today, perhaps hoping to catch a glimpse of the red lipped star.
"It would be an honour to have Dana Lorington here in this office." Chief Roberts had told Wesley the day before.
Wesley, however, wasn't all that enthralled with the idea. He could care less who came into the building, it was what information they had to offer that mattered. With each new suspect was a glimmer of hope that they might be the key piece to this ever growing puzzle.«*»\«*»\«*»\«*»\«*»\«*»\«*»\«*»\«*»\
It was Friday. The end of the week still produced nothing from Dana. Wesley, along with everyone else, was growing anxious.
'She should have come in by now.' He thought to himself. 'What could she possibly have against a simple test? Unless....'
Doubt had been growing throughout the week about Dana's reliability, but no one had said anything. She couldn't be the murderer, she was a highly respected and well known image of Hollywood.
'But she may know something about this whole disaster that she doesn't want to reveal.' Decided the now eager young detective.
He wasn't going to allow Dana to hide from them anymore in her luscious mansion. He would bring her in for questioning and perform the DNA test somehow. Maybe her loaded schedule really was the reason she hadn't come in, but Wesley was beginning to doubt that.
His fingers fled to his pocket and extracted his outdated cell phone. He googled the address of her mansion.
'Only about a twenty minute drive from here.' He noticed silently
'I can leave a little early today and stop there before going home'
With his mind alert and his hopes awakened once again, Wesley asked the front clerk to fill in the chief of his plans if he should ask, and headed out for the Lorington Estate.
