all grown upbuzzing. buzzing is all I could hear ringing through my ears like a foghorn.
"dear god, who is it!" I yelled to myself, leaping off the couch and tumbling off on to the floor
sighing I ran through my box filled apartment scrambling to try and find my vibrating phone; I didn't know who it could be as I didn't really have any friends in this new town, it was the first time I had been out of Maine by myself and I wasn't taking it well so far.
"ah!" I mumbled rather loudly to myself, managing to find the phone wedged between two boxes both filled with an assortment of towels and toilet paper.
"hi..." I stated rather hesitantly into the phone after quickly answering it
"Leah? Leah Hudson?" a males voice huskily mumbled back to me, "this is mike. mike hanlon. you know, from good ol Derry!"
startled I dropped the phone on to the rough wooden flooring. my body felt paralysed, like a deer in the blinking lights of a car. I didn't know what to do; the sound of his name was vomit inducing. however I was not sure why. I always loved mike as a child:he was always the most caring of the group.
The group
'what was that stupid group called' I wondered to myself, desperately wanting to uncover the memories I had spent years of trauma trying to hide up.
"mike?" I uttered curiously into the speaker, "why do you need me back in Derry"
"it's back"
hours and hours went by until I reached Derry. just the meer sight of this god forbidden town gave me shivers that crawled and clung like leeches to my spine
