On my second term in Oppenheimer I was looking at the list of subjects I could pick for my extra curricular classes. And a picture of a chocolate cake jumped out in front of me: "baking"... I involuntarily started salivating thinking that learning how to bake a nice cake wouldn't be a bad skill to have after all. So, I signed up for it.

The first time I attended class, as soon as I walked in, all eyes were on me, for a second I felt like a walking cake. But I realised they were all staring at me because I was the only boy there. I blushed, and was about to turn on my heels and walk away, but before I could, the old lady in front of the class spoke to me:

-"Cole, yes? You must be our new student, please come in! My name is Mrs Baker and I am our baking teacher."

I want to let go of a laugh, but I only looked at her with a smirk on my face. She give a good giggle before replying to my mental question.

-"No Cole, I am not kidding, my name is Pam Baker, and I love baking. I have been baking my entire life and that is how Mrs Baker had fallen for me, oh well!! I guess he was just after my cake... but ending up getting the full package..."

Everyone in the class laughed together and I joined in, I can sympathise with Mr Baker and I felt very welcome in Mrs Baker class finding a place for me in the far corner.

-"do you like baking, Cole?"
-"not sure, but I definitely love a good cake."
-"well, it is a good place to start. However you are not allowed to be at the far corner on my classes, in my class everything is about taste, fun and friendship, because those are the three best ingredients to produce a good cake, please come here let me pair you with one of the senior students so you can have more fun"

She said a name, but I didn't quite catch, the girl was a curvy petite olive tan skin, short black hair, and wearing thick specs over her beautiful chocolate brown eyes.

-"Welcome Cole!" She said with a smile.
-"Thank you, but I didn't quite got your name, sorry..."
-"It is Ganesha" - I smiled thinking she was joking, but realised she was not.
-"Ganache? Like Chocolate Ganache?" - She laughed at me.
-"NO Silly! GanEsha, different vowels, different sounds... "
-"Sorry GanEshA! I mean no offense!"
-"No offense taken."

The rest of the class was just like I would expect, we baked lots of cakes and pastries, well, I said we, but Ganesha did all the hard work and I just watch and help to clean up, and at the end we get to eat everything we bake in class, we swap slices with the other students and take home what was left, honestly there was not much left anyway.

During that term Baking become my favourite class ever, but I notice Ganesha was not exactly happy with me.

-"Cole! Did you count 3 spoons?"
-"I am sure it is roughly right."
-"roughly right? That doesn't work in baking, Cole!"
-"Oh come on Ganesha, it is better to be roughly right than precisely wrong."
-"Cole, if you are baking, roughly right means the same as precisely wrong."
-"NO! It doesn't!"
-"Trust me! It does, and your cake will be a disaster, it said 3 spoons for a reason!"
-"I am sure I can still eat."
-"Well, that is true! You would eat poop, if there was sugar in it ..."
-"I would NOT! And you are disgusting."
-"Really?? You are calling me disgusting? Look at yourself before talking about me."

Of course she was right, my cake was a disaster, and the next one, and the one after. The truth is, I have no patience to follow recipes, and that somehow got on Ganesha's nerves.

-"Cole! Would you please take this serious?" - She politely asked me.
-"I am taking this seriously."
-"No Cole! You are not, for you what matters is you get to eat all the cake at the end."
-"Well... That is a very important job!"
-"Cole! Please... This is important for me, if we don't succeed at the end of the term I will lose my credits."
-"Come on Ganesha, this is just an extracurricular class, and it is all about having fun as Mrs Baker told us herself."
-"It is for you, for me it is my culinary degree on steak, she pairs an extra curricular student with a degree student to test my ability to teach you. But you are helpless, you just don't respond to anything I try! I reach the point that I think as long as you get to eat you don't really care."
