Pokemon, A Christmas Carol

Act 1

We join James in his home in America in 2018, visiting his family there. He was talking to his twin cousins Lindsey and Valery Turgeon. He was very jolly and healthy and was excitedly telling them about his adventures.

Lindsey: Wow James, that was incredible! And you even got new lungs?!?!?!??!

James: Yes indeed! I feel much better now than before the surgery. I admit, the first 2 months after I got my new lungs were difficult, but I overcame them.

Valery: So how did you get your new lungs?

James: Well, it's a long story. I think you two deserve to know.

And this was the story James told.

It was Christmas Eve in the Kalos region. The year was 2016, and everyone was finishing up their Christmas Shopping and traveling to be with their friends and family. Some travel to other towns in Kalos, others travel far away to Kanto, America, Australia, etc. Everyone was in a very Jolly mood. Everyone, except one.

His name was Ash Ketchum. He was a stubborn trainer from the Kanto region. He has been through all sorts of drama, and it made him lonely and bitter. He owns a resturant in Lumious City, and he's been running it ever since 2008, after his mom sadly passed away.

We join Ash at the restaurant, which is located in Lumious Station. Ash has hired many employees, but I was the hardest working of all. I often worked late into the night and early in the morning. I once worked from 5 am to midnight for 2 months solid! No, I'm not Joking. I wound up in the hospital for that same amount of time due to severe exhaustion. Ash ended up paying my hospital bills, my pay for those long hours, and a paid leave of absence for 4 months. He had to work himself ragged to recover from that. Needless to say, he wasn't happy. After all that, I worked hard. It was the end of my shift and Ash was counting most of the money he earned. Ash always takes pride in the money he earned. It was around 4:00 when I approached him.

James: Hey Ash, can we talk?

Ash: What is it?

James: Well, I was wondering if I can take tomorrow off. Today's Christmas Eve so....

Ash: James, do you remember the last time you had a paid absence?

James: Yes, but that was because I had been working long hours with little sleep for two months straight! Lest we forget when I finally...

Ash: Don't! Even! Go there!

James: You get the point then, I presume?

Ash: As a matter of fact, I do! Why do you think I had to work hard to recover for it? Speak to me 1 hour from now. Got that? Now, you have to take out the trash pronto.

I did just that and I threw it in the station dumpster. It was hard work and unfortunately, I had a little hiccup. It was an hour and 15 minutes by the time I was done and went straight into Ash's office.

Ash: About time, James! What kept you?

James: If you must know, some stupid twit thought it would be fun to put firecrackers in the dumpster to scare the shit out of me! That caused tons of trash to explode and I had to clean that up as well as take out the trash!

Ash: That's no excuse for dilly-dallying! You should have left that trash as it is!

James: Yeah, Yeah, Whatever. The trash is taken out and the bags are replaced.

Ash: Alright, good. You can go. And you can have ONE day off! ONE!!!! That's tomorrow! After that, I expect you to be here by 8:00 am on the 26th! Did you get that?

James: Yes sir, thank you. *leaves*

Ash:*sighs* Young workers. If Gary were alive, we wouldn't have any problems with them.
