Something Happened over Christmas [COMPLETED]

Part 2

Dome arrived in his condo unit with a massive headache. It's December 19 and he's been working almost every day since November. His body is just about ready to give up.

He texted their manager and Pavel, telling them that he might not make it to tomorrow's event. It was a pity because it was their last one for the year. Next, he texted his best friend, David, to check on him tomorrow in case he won't be alive anymore. He didn't wait for their reply before crashing to the bed.

Dome didn't know how many hours have passed since he blacked out, but when he woke up, he was slightly shivering and was covered in sweat. Still, he was feeling much better than last night.

It's raining and the sound of rain pounding the glass windows was a comfort.

He thought he heard someone moving outside his room so he went to investigate.

'P... What are you doing here?' asked Dome.

A tall guy wearing a white dress shirt was stirring soup in the kitchen. He turned around and flashed his pearly white teeth. 'Wow. You look awful.'

Dome scratched his head. He was barefoot and still wearing yesterday's clothes. He yawned and rubbed his eyes. The clock says it's almost 3pm.

'So,' said David, 'I cancelled my afternoon appointments when you didn't answer my calls. I went to your parents' house to get the keys to your condo.'

'Sorry, P...'

David stepped closer to Dome and messed his hair. 'You work too hard, and that's very admirable. But you do know taking care of your self is more important, right?'

He then guided Dome to sit at the table, where a bowl and utensils were already waiting. He poured soup for his best friend. 'Eat up so you can take your medicine,' David ordered.

Dome complied, smiling. He's very lucky to have David in his life.

David was three years older than him. They were neighbors when they were younger and David always took care of him. He was always present when there are important things happening with him, and he was the first person who Dome told about being cast for 2 Moons 2. David was there to comfort him when the fans of the original cast went livid about the announcement of the new actors.

'Give your parents new keys,' David said, 'I'm keeping this one.'

Dome nodded. He had no reason to complain. In fact, he felt assured that someone's looking after him. 'How's work?' he asked.

David shrugged his wide shoulders. A dimple appeared on his left cheek. 'Nothing new. Same old boring stuff.' David is a marketing manager, but he doesn't feel that his work is challenging enough.

'Why don't you become an actor, P? You're wasting your good looks!'

David laughed. He shook his head. 'You know how I hate attention. One look at you and I'm already getting tired. Hey, I think your phone is ringing.'

Right. Dome stood and went to his room. The call ended though before he could answer it. Five calls from Pavel. Fuck.

He received 20 text messages and half of which came from his leading man. Double fuck.

The phone started ringing again. Still Pavel.

His heart was pounding.

Should he answer it or not?
