They led them both out to the sea to bid goodbye and any other thanks they have already gotten. Josephine stayed in the castle in an attempt to find a way to do as Calista asked, but still thought about what she had said, and how genuinely sorry she was. After all, she did save them, and even though her heart had ached, deep inside her she had forgiven her. She was indebted to her, and this was the best she could do.
Both dove down deep and took a sigh of relief. It was much better being underwater (nonetheless being able to fully see) and have the safety of knowing their home would still be standing, and was under no threat and in due time, they could return back to it.
Pippa swam around in a hurry, and breezed past them in her rush. She stopped abruptly and turned for a second look at them and gasped, as she swam back to them.
“You’ve come back!” she said, and sighed, “I was worried, you were up there for so long!”
“Well,” Calista started, “I don’t think you’ll have to worry about us going back there any time soon…”
“Did you talk with the Queen?” her voice grew low, “What did she say about...about our home?”
“Nothing to worry about, they’re handling it if you want to believe it.”
“And what about?” They stopped once they finally noticed Rosalie, who was trailing behind Calista, not even making an effort to try to talk, or even look at her matter of factly. Pippa shivered, and didn’t continue the thought. Sadly, Rosalie had noticed her shift, and put her head down ashamed.
“You worry too much-” Calista said, “Where did you put everyone?”
Pippa perked up and pointed southward. “The Pelos colonies! There’s enough room for everyone,.” she exaggerated, and noticed Calista look confused, she cleared her throat,
Now Calista looked upset, she didn’t realize how fast it would’ve spread. She wasn’t expecting to completely relocate. Pippa went up to her, “If it makes you feel any better, many people were happy. They haven’t been out of our colonies before, it’s something new for a while, right?” she asked, but Calista was still upset, “Will it only be for a little while?”
Calista took a deep breath, and nodded affirmatively, “Yes, It shouldn’t be that long we’ll be gone.”
“Thank Goodness, We should probably leave then, they’re waiting for you.” she finished, and started to swim away leaving Calista completely shocked.
“Wait, me?” she asked as she went to catch up to her and pulled her tail to get her to stop.
“Yes, you. You’re their princess, remember?”
“They...they aren’t afraid of me?” she became completely shocked and frozen once Pippa nodded.
“Nix and I told them what you were doing, and they didn’t believe us at first but then when we showed them the pollution they did. They think you’re brave, they didn’t know you had that side to you.”
“I-” she was at a complete loss of words. She didn’t know. She couldn’t even guess they would think she’s brave. Especially after what she did to her own home. Yet by how Pippa seemed to explain it, they forgave her for it in replace of this. She started to smile, but Pippa started swimming again to make her snap out of her pride and follow. “Can you wait?” she said, as soon Rosalie started to follow her.
She had been contemplating going back. She didn’t know what Pippa told them about her, it really could be nothing, but she didn’t know, and frankly, hadn’t been around a city of people in a long time. But first things first, she had to find courage somehow, and had to force it to happen then and there, “I’m sorry for what I did-” she said, as Calista turned to look at her, and slowed down to meet her pace.
