Eventually, they found Pippa and Calista had explained to them all of what had happened in the room. About her father and what he told her, leaving out some minor details along the way  in the story. Nix was overly excited about this, and was jittery through the entire story, as she had kept asking more and more questions every other millisecond about every single detail. About the room, about her father, about the waves, and even about the floor.

Anything.

Once Rosalie calmed her down eventually, she simply shook her head once Calista concluded her tale.

“Do you even know about this oracle of a serpent? Nevertheless, a serpent. The number one enemy to sirens?” saying so blatantly expecting Calista to already know this simple fact when really, she hadn’t. No known enemies have ever attacked any of the colonies, however there have been reports of missing mermaids in the past but, with no known source. Calista shook her head as Rosalie sighed exceptionally loudly in annoyance, “Oracles in the first place aren’t to be trusted, why do you think you should trust a serpent one?”

Calista scrunched her nose in disgust, “Have you ever met a serpent? Can you make a valid opinion on them like you just did?”

Rosalie stayed quiet for a long time. Her cheeks grew red as she bashfully shook her head ‘no’. Nix and Pippa giggled quietly amongst themselves. Triumphantly, Calista smiled smugly as she was already swimming out of the castle to the cove all giddy like with Pippa and Nix flying ahead of her. “That’s what I thought. Now if you’ll excuse me, we have somewhere to be.” she suddenly stopped abruptly, “Unless, that is, you’re a codfish. But, I mean, it’s your choice, I’m not going to fight you for it.” and swam to catch up with Nix and Pippa.

Rosalie was left alone, thinking about what Calista had said. She was right after all, she did assume what may not be true after all. After a short while, she called for Calista, hoping she’d wait for her after what she had said.

Calista peeked her head out of the water and saw that the sun was just now setting. Some slimy leaves were floating around the bay. Tall deep etched willow trees poked out of the water, some of their stems touching the surface and even diving down.

The huge rocks were painted purple and orange along with small ripples in the water. Everything was so...calm. Rosalie came up too and looked at the cove in awe. It was just like a painted picture, and one more beautiful than any beautiful picture Rosalie has ever seen.

Rosalie hasn’t ever been to the shore, or even above water. She’s heard stories, along with those about the oracle, about reckless, self-obsessed, beings of power.  Especially with the recent events, she wasn’t looking forward to seeing one close to her on their own territory. But she had to push through it, and follow Calista as they searched through the cove trying to find this mysterious oracle of a serpent.

Down under the water, Pippa painfully agreed to search underwater with Nix, the sprite, as the sirens searched above at the shore. Although she thought it would be better to look at the surface than them, someone had to look underwater. And someone had to keep an eye on Nix, as she had constantly asked questions about what she saw and talked. She was a professional at it. To which Pippa hated.

She trudged through the seaweed and coral as she tried to scavenge through but was continuously stopped by Pippa’s random, out-of-context questions.

She was a flying questionnaire.

While floating through the reef, Nix hadn’t paid any attention to herself at all and was overly fascinated by everything that glittered. Due to this, while she was talking to Pippa, who she found knew everything and liked her a lot because she talked to her, ran straight into a fairly large rock.
