Louise laid there wide awake, trying to comprehend what was going on inside of her. She had a baby in her womb and she was still unsure about it. Joe seemed to have settled better than her. He often spoke about the baby, how it was going to work with them not being together. It was admirable actually, she was amazed that he had put his potential opportunity to escape Bath and Wiltshire- YouTube- to get a normal job.

In their new house, they had slipped into a new routine. He would wake up pretty early, the roofs required him to be up with the crows, and make her a cup of tea in a flask mug and put a cracker by her bed before he left the house. He normally got back at around 5 where Louise would, if she was feeling up to it, make them dinner. Then they would spend the evening watching the TV, usually Grey's Anatomy, before she inevitably crashed and he transported her to the bed.

Louise wasn't working her old job anymore, her mind was in such a scatter that she kept forgetting to turn up to the point where she decided that quitting was the best option, despite her mum and Joe's worry. She was now working on growing the baby and had taken up a small job as an editor, with her English degree, and was now editing a children's novel. This job fit her because she could work at any time and it was enjoyable. The baby had been the push to reach her dream. And presently that was one of the only positives she had found.

Another positive she had found was that she realised with this baby she would never truly feel alone again. She would always have someone with her.

She laughed aloud at her midnight thoughts- particularly at how random they were. Her laugh was silenced however when she felt something inside. It felt like little things popping inside of her tummy. When it had first happened, three days ago, she had assumed it was gas but as the days went on she realised it could be something else. Joe had developed a new hobby as they ate dinner- reading a baby book called What to Expect When You're Expecting aloud to her and with her new found knowledge she realised that the bean inside of her was kicking.

She put her hand on her stomach and was surprised to feel that she could feel the kicks on the outside. It was a strangely comforting situation and she allowed herself to bathe in the comfort before she went to show the one person she could guarantee would be excited about this.

"Hi bean, I can feel you kicking or whatever. When Joe feels this he's going to piss himself. I should probably call him Daddy and not say piss but I don't think you can hear yet. Not sure. I'm gonna be your Louise," she whispered, standing up, catching a reflection of her and 'bump' in the mirror. She stretched, and walked ro the bathroom which she seemed to frequent more now and then walked into Joe's room.

"Joseph Sugg, wake up." She said at full volume, shoving his shoulder.

"Ugh, wha-what's up, what's wrong, are you okay," he said instantly springing up, putting a hand on her shoulder.

"Bean has a message for you," she said dryly, reaching for his hand off her shoulder.

"Huh?"

Louise just smiled at him, as she put his hand on her belly.

"Are they wait, is that gas, are you making me feel your farts?" Tired Joe exclaimed taking his hand off her belly- well tried to.

"It's bean, they're kicking. I think, it's what you described in that book," Louise said, sitting next to him.

"Oh wow, oh my gosh, no way, oh my gosh. No, seriously?" Joe stuttered, getting a better position, both of his hands on her tummy now.

"Yes, I was confused but I could feel it on the outside. I mean the scan will really tell us but I think," Louise said letting a smile cross her face.

"Can I, can I speak to it?" Joe asked shyly looking at her face.

"Feel free."

"Hi er, hi baby, it's your Dad, your Daddy, er Joseph. I can maybe feel you kicking which is cool. You feel very real now. And I'm going to meet you in like five months. You live inside your Mummy, she's called Louise and she's nervous, more than me, to meet you," he looked up and met her eyes momentarily, "but she's going to be an amazing Mummy, and she'll love you so much. You'll love her too, quite a lot because it's hard not to. Baby, I'm going to teach you everything. I'm going to show you how to ride a bike and climb ladders and show you the thatching straw. I'll sing you to sleep and hold your hand everywhere we go. I'll love you. I already do but I promise you won't ever feel unloved little baby. Not ever."

"You're a soppy git, adorable but incredibly soppy," Louise said quietly, she knew she would invariably cry of she spoke any louder.

"I know, imagine when I'm holding the baby, I'll become a wet sponge," Joe chuckled taking his hands off of her stomach, putting one around her shoulder.

"You will, soon enough you'll be crying at films that Zoe watches like the note book or something prissy like that. I should get back to bed, 8am I need to be up right?"

"I'm coming to pick you up at 9, I'm leaving at half 6 to get a bit of time on the roof so I won't be able to hurry you along. Do you need me to call you at 8?" Joe offered, getting out of bed with her.

"Would you?" She asked, stepping from their bedroom into the hall.

"Course, an 8am wake up call for Louise Bennett from the one and only Sugg!"

"Night Joe."

"Night Louby."

"What time you gonna be back then?" Gary asked, as Joe held his phone to his ear, halfway up the ladder.

"Appointment's at half 9 so about 11. I'll work through to whenever obviously," Joe said, trying Louise again.

"Lovely, how is she?"

"Alright, still a bit spaced out sometimes. We're having a full scan today," Joe explained and sighed in relief as at the exact time a sleepy voice rang through the phone.

"I'm up."

"Barely." He chuckled, "how are you feelin'?"

"Decent, knackered. Thanks for the tea," she said, and Joe smiled at her sleepy voice.

"My pleasure, I'll see you in 2 hours, will you remember the file?" Joe asked, whilst also reminding her.

"Yep, it's on the coffee table next to your list of questions. You best get back to working Mr Thatcher, or Gaz will kill me," Louise said, giving a tired laugh.

"See you soon, bye," Joe said, picking up the peg for the next part of the roof.

"Bye."

"Do you want to know the gender?" The technician asked, once they had looked at everything else.

"Can we find out today?" Louise asked shocked, she had expected it to be in ages from now.

"If you wish yeah, do you want to?"

"Joe?" Louise asked, she knew her answer but she wanted Joe to have his opinion.

"It's up to you, I don't mind either way. If you were to it would make it more real which would probably help you. Up to you though, your body," Joe said, squeezing her hand.

"Okay then, yeah, would we be able to?" She asked, looking at the technician.

"Of course, any guesses?" She said, as she got ready to look.

"A girl," Joe answered, he had had 2 dreams since finding out and in each one of had been a little girl he was with.

"Yeah, that's my guess too," Louise agreed, though she hadn't put much thought into what it might be.

"Okay, sooo... you're both correct, there's a little girl in there, a baby girl."

Joe beamed and kissed Louise's head, squeezing her hand once more. He couldn't be happier. Sure he had no knowledge on princesses or anything but he knew that by having a little girl he'd be able to protect her forever.

"Happy Joe?" Louise asked, looking up at him, as her bump was wiped clean of the cold gel.

"Extremely, you?"

"Yeah. Our little princess."
