[Aniyaa's Pov]
Ivy sat here and lied in my face, because she thought I'd disapprove of her having a guy friend in the city. What a silly pipsqueak she is, and it just so happens I have a neighbor across the street with that name. I tell her this, and she turns all red. I ask her what the matter is and she answers with an immediate 'nothing'.
"If it's nothing, then we can go see him."
I absolutely loved the way she squirmed when I said the words. I grab her, run across the street faster than said possible, and ring his doorbell. He answers the door, and looks confused.
"Ivy? Ivory Winston?" He says like he's choking on the words. She smiles weakly at him.
"Yeah, Kymarr married Stacy, just in case you didn't know." He sighs, and welcomes us in.
"Don't tell me you came all the way to Rome, to tell me my cousin, your fiancée married the town's 'angel'."
"No, I came to escape the 'happy newly weds' atmosphere that's settled in my very own house."
She looks awfully pained saying that. Poor thing.
[Ivory's Pov]
My throat hurt saying those words. I can't breathe now, because I'm thinking of his beautifully tempting eyes. Kymarr's eyes. Aniyaa is trying not to cry as she can almost feel my pain surfacing. Charlie is by my side in an instant, and he hugs me as my eyes start to mist. Stupid tears. Charlie had always been there. Except my supposed-to-be wedding day. The day Kymarr married Stacy, and I ran home in my wedding dress crying. The day I needed him the most. Self pity turned to anger at Charlie. For not being there when I needed him, when the entire world was against me, and ripped away my fairy tale. He could tell I was mad at him. It was one of his "gifts". These "gifts" were one of the reasons he couldn't wait to escape Winston, Louisiana. People, especially his own family, made him think what he had was a curse. I had always loved his gift. It made Charlie, Charlie, and not somebody else. I didn't have to explain anything. He'd hug me, and kiss the top of my head, claiming everything would be alright. Just like always...
[Charlie's Pov]
Ivory shows up at my door with my crazy artist of a neighbor. She tells me my cousin married our common enemy, Stacy. I can tell she's hurting. She really did love him. The only one who didn't sense trouble in paradise was her. What she felt and what she thought was supposed to happen, blinded her to reality. As soon as he put that ring on her finger, she was on cloud nine and a completely lost cause. I couldn't keep her from falling, but if I was even in the country, I could've caught her. She was angry. That I hadn't been there, but if I had I would've had to stay put at the wedding. I tried to hide the guilt, while Aniyaa was holding her tears. Ivory felt our unintentional pity, and stormed out. That's just great. I hope Mason or I find her before Kymarr hunts her down. I'm pretty confident if he does find her, she'll kill him.
