Besides the obvious which is that RHPS is a Horror Film, there are many references both in Rocky Horror to other Horror Films and vice versa. Many of the characters are based off of well established Horror Staples (Riff Raff is a hunchback, Magenta the Bride of Frankenstein, Rocky is basically a sexy parody of the Monster, and Franky being a Vampire). The song Science Fiction Double Feature is about classic Communism Frenzy/Creature Feature films from the 1930s-1970s. The dummy used in the birthing sequence is the same from Son of Frankenstein and many horror films including A Nightmare on Elm Street 2, Halloween II (2009), Saw 6 and Friday the 13th Part 9 have blatant references to RHPS. Rocky Horror is also considered to be the greatest Horror Musical.
