On with the story!....

********

The time was 5:00pm, just about time for Mia and Charlie to go pick up Alex and his mom. Mia was putting her shoes on while Charlie was upstairs looking for his. He looked around all sides of his bed, next to the dressor, even in the closet. Where could they be? Just as he was about to give up, he decided to look under his bed. Bingo! He put his arm under the bed to grab them, but they were just out of reach. So, he army crawled under the tight space. He was about to grab them when he felt the familiar comfort he always felt when he was under a bed. He layed his head down on the floor and closed his eyes, allowing himself to relax, just for a minute or two.

"Charlie, you almost ready?!" Mia called from down stairs. Charlie opened his eyes and grabbed his sneakers before scrambling out. He slid his shoes on and quickly made his way out the door, shutting the lights on his way out. "There ya are" Mia said as Charlie made his way down the stairs. "Okay, lets go pick up our guests" She said with a smile. Charlie nodded and followed her out the door.

It wasn't until they were in the car did Charlie realise he forgot his Teddy. He looked out the window of the passenger seat and into his bedroom window. He suddenly felt alone without him. Afterall, he always brought Teddy with him. Especially on car rides.
Mia got into the drivers seat and looked over at him. "Did you forget something hun?" She asked.
Charlie pried his eyes away from the bedroom window and over to her. He suddenly felt ashamed for missing a Teddy bear. He felt like he was too old to be caring for such things. He shook his head and buckled up.
"Okay" Mia said starting up the car.
The whole drive over, Charlie could only focus on the lack of added weight in his lap and soft fuzzy fur in his hands.

As soon as they got there, Alex came rushing out the door. Charlie unbuckled his seatbelt and did the same. The two boys ran up to eachother and wrapped eachother in a tight embrace. Mia chuckled as she climbed out of her car. Alex's mom came out of the trailor and waved to Mia. Mia smiled and waved back. She walked up to her and shook her hand. "Hi it so nice to meet you!" Mia beamed.

"You too! I'm Heather, I've already heard so much about you from Alex". Heather said.

"Oh, good things I'm hoping?" Mia laughed.

"Yes" Heather laughed as well "All good things".

They looked over at the boys who were still hugging eachother.

"They get along so nicely" Mia whispered.

"I couldn't be happier for Alex. He talks about Charlie all the time". Heather whispered back.

"Mom!" Alex shouted while blushing.

"Whoops" Heather giggled. "Kids got the ears of a rabbit".

"Not all the time" Alex muttered. He crossed his arms and looked down to hide his blush. Charlie let out a giggle and put a hand up to his mouth to hide as well. He felt flattered that someone actually cared for him this much.

"Okay, who's hungry?" Mia said raising her hand. Everyone shot their hand up in the air, Alex put up two hands. "Good! Lets get back to my place so I can get cooking".

"Yes!" Alex cheered. They all went to the car, Charlie sat with Alex in the back while Heather sat in the passenger seat.

As they drove off, Heather looked at Alex in the rear mirror. "Alex, show Charlie what you've been teaching yourself". She said with a smile.

"Oh, right!" Alex said excited. He looked over at Charlie and started to do something with his hands. It took Charlie a second to process what he was doing, but when he did a huge smile appeared on his face. Alex was doing sign language! He signed 'How are you?'. Charlie couldn't help but tear up and hug him. Nobody other than his mom had bothered to learn sign launguage for him. "Now it will be easier to communicate" Alex said giggling as he hugged back.

When they got back to the house, Mia put on the Peanut's series in the living room. Charlie, Alex and Heather all sat in the living room for the marathon while Mia finsihed preparing the Pizza Pasta. Every now and then Charlie would go into the kitchen to see if she needed any help. He helped stir the noodles so they wouldn't stick to the bottom of the pot while Mia sliced the peparoni. He also helped by pouring in the sauce.

When he would return to the living room, Alex caught him up on what he missed.

"Linus lost his blanket" Alex said keeping his eyes on the screen. "Now he's going through a major withdrawl".

Charlie watched as Linus grew more and more upset every minute he didn't have his blanket. He thought about his Teddy, and how he went without him on the car ride. He started to miss him again. Teddy was probably missing him too. Charlie's eyes left the screen and went over to the staircase behind him.

"I'll be right back boys" Heather said bringing Charlies attention back. She walked over to the kitchen, leaving the two boys alone in the livingroom.

"You okay?" Alex whispered over to him.

Charlie looked down at his lap almost pouting. He was starting to involuntarily regress. He hadn't regressed since he had a nigtmare that caused him to have an accident in his sleep. And even then he had only regressed twice. So he didn't realise it at first when he started to regress again.

Now in the mindset of a three year old, he couldn't hold back his tears. He hid hid face in his hands and started to cry softly.

"Charlie?" Alex said in a soft tone. "What's wrong?" When Charlie didn't respond, he pulled him into his arms.
Charlie began to sob helplessly.

"Teddy" Charlie whispered between his tears. He said it so quietly that Alex almost didn't hear.

"Your teddy bear?" Alex asked him. He remembered how much comfort his Teddy seemed to bring him back at the tree house. "Where is it? Is it in your room?" He asked. Charlie sniffled and nodded. "Okay, I'll be right back". Charlie was reluctant to let go but pulled himself back. Alex went to the kitchen to find Mia and Heather sitting at the counter talking and laughing. "Hey, Mia?" Alex asked.

"Oh, hey Alex" Mia said looking over at him. "Need something?"

"Yeah um, where is Charlies room?" He asked hoping it wasn't too weird of him to ask. "I need to get something for him".

"Up the stairs, last door at the end of the hall" Mia replied.

"Okay, thanks" Alex said walking over to the staris. He quickly climbed up the steps and speed walked down the hall. Once he got to the last door he opened it up and peeked inside to double check. He flipped the light switch and saw the Teddy bear sitting on the bed. A smile appeared on the blondes face. He walked over to the bed and picked up the small bear, then quickly made his way back down the stairs.

"Here" Alex said holding the bear out. Charlie looked up and gasped. He took the Teddy bear and hugged it tight. He burried his face in it's fur nuzzling it. Alex smiled and had a seat next to him. Charlie leaned over and layed his head down on Alex's shoulder. Alex wrapped an arm around him, holding him close. Charlie smiled and hummed softly to himself. He closed his eyes and couldn't help but pop his thumb in his mouth as he grew drowsy.
