I love you but I can't have you

Chapter 1

I am dancing on the dance floor having the time of my life with my best friends messing around and just having an awesome senior prom. When a slow song comes on I get pulled into someone's chest and I see Sam my boyfriend since freshman year right up on me holding me and swaying with the music. I smile up at him and just dance and think of how happy I am to be here in Sam's arms. He smiles back at me and then bends down and places a kiss on my lips with a smile pulling away I look up at him. When I was a kid I would have never thought I would be dating someone so handsome like Sam......

I wake up to my head pounding and remembering the dream I had last night it's the same one I have every night since Sam told me that he wanted to take a break and see other people that was a year ago today and even though I tell myself and all my friends around me that I have moved on it's not true I am still in love with Sam and I think I will always be Hi I'm Piper and if you want to know what I am talking about just wait and see you will find out sooner or later.

I finally push the thought of my dream out of my head and start getting ready for my long day. You see a year ago I moved from my small apartment that I shared with my older sister in Kansas to L.A. with my best friend Colby Brock and my now ex-boyfriend Sam Golbach. I loved the idea and thought I would be living my whole life with Sam and Colby but I guess things change you see Sam and I dated from freshman year of high school tell a year an a half after high school in high school they all thought we would be the ones to stay together forever and get married and have children I thought so too and so did our friends but I guess things change when your boyfriend goes on a trip to Canda with our uncle and Colby and then comes back and tells me that he wants to see other people.

Now at first I thought he was playing around for like a video since he does do youtube with Colby I thought it was just a prank so I was playing along until I came home the next day to see all my stuff that was in sam's room out of his room and packed into boxes and a note on his door saying "im sorry but we need a break and I think it will be best if you moved out" that was the last day I talked to Sam and Colby but I am still friends with Elton and Corey and Devyn and Jake I just don't bring up sam and Colby at all and they all understand why.

But I have moved on and im not fine but im ok and that is what I have to go with I moved out and moved into my own apartment and I got my own job as a model like I wanted to and I have grown to be myself and I guess it was for the best sam and I broke up.

But today i got up and started getting ready because Devyn and i are heading to get our nails done and have a girls day even though she lives with sam and Colby and everyone else we still don't speak about sam and Colby and I am ok with that even though almost all the time I have the urge to ask how they are doing but I don't I push it down and ignore it so I can just live my life and they can live there because if they really wanted to still be my friend they could have found me on Instagram but they haven't.

I got dressed and was working on my makeup when my phone went off with a ding and i thought it was just a text from Dev telling me she is here but she usually just comes right in since she has a key and everything so I put my make up down and look at my phone and see that I have an Instagram DM from THE Colby Brock the one boy that I thought would never text me.

I don't look at the DM instead I finish my makeup and get my shoes on and pull my hair bag with a bandana and head out to the parking lot because I just got a text from Devyn saying she is here to pick me up.

Once I get out to her car I get in and get seat bellted and she says "hey piper" i smile and say "hey Dev" she smiles and starts driving to the nail salon and I look at my phone thinking if I should text him back or not when devyn looks at me and says "hey are you ok?" i look at her and say "well i was getting ready today and well i got a notification for a DM on instagram and well i looked at it and Colby texted me and i don't know if I should text back and if i do what to say" she pulls into the nail salon and looks at me and smiles "yeah i knew he was going to text you, he asked me what to say since I still talk to you and everything so I said just be your self and that is what I am saying to you ok" i smile and say "ok thanks dev" then we walk inside and sit down and get a mainicure and then I post this photo on my IG story of my nails:

After that, we head to go out and eat at chick fila and just talk and once we were done I pulled my phone out and started talking to Colby over text:

I smile and look up after I stop texting Colby I get to see him tonight and I haven't seen him in a year so it has been a while but it's fine. Devyn looks at me and smiles and says "so what did Colby say?" I smile and say "he asked me if I wanted to go out tonight and have dinner with him" Devyn squeals and says "OMG I have missed you guys hanging out this is going to be amazing we have to get you ready!!" drive to my place and gets us out and we head upstairs to my room,

Once in my room, I look around and Devyn tries and helps me find an awesome outfit for tonight.

1 hour later.

I am wearing a jean jacket with a black tank top and a white jean skirt and black vans.

Once I was done Devyn said she will be here when I get done and that she is going to spend the night at my place tonight so I grab my purse and head out to tender greens.
