Fearless

The Infirmary

Eric leads me down the dark hallways of dauntless. As we walk I keep seeing Eric glance over then look away when I try to catch him. I stop trying to catch him and wait for him to glance over again. When he glances over again I don't look at him. I just say "what do you want?"

Silence.

"Seriously. What? Did I do something wrong?" I ask.

"No" he says. "For the first time someone's done something right."

Now I'm confused. Done something right. "What do you mean?" I ask. I know I can usually figure things out but I can't figure this out.

"What I mean is that someone other than me is finally seeing the imperfections in your brother." He says.
"Weren't you just following his orders like a lost puppy though He told you to do something and you walked up no questions asked. Explain that to me." I ask/demand quite confused.

"He isn't the boss of me but when he told me to take you to the infirmary after your encounter I was intrigued. I am a dauntless leader. I didn't have to take you. But there's something about you." Before I can say anything else we enter the infirmary and the nurse lady checks me out.

"Eric. Could you step out?" I ask. He looks confused. "If the nurse thinks you should see I'll let you back in, but for now I don't want anyone in here until I know if the damage will mess with my training." I say. I know I rambled but it got the point across. He stepped out and the nurse asks "what did you mean damage?" I look at her and say "Tobias or Four as you may know him is my brother." I say. It suddenly all clicks for her. "Alright. Do you think your injuries are worse than his?" I just laugh at this and take off my shirt. "See for yourself." I say.

Silence.

"Have you never seen scars and wounds before?" I ask.
"I have it just usually isn't this bad." She says. "And this is dauntless. And that's saying something." I just rolled my eyes.

"Will I be able to train?" I ask not really caring about anything else.
She looks at me and holds up a finger as if telling me to hold on. She walks out and about a minute passes and she comes in with Eric.
"Hey" he says.
I just stare at him. The nurse then says "Ok Eric is going to be watching out for you. If you start looking weak or faint he will be able to tell you to take it slowly. Otherwise you are free to train with everyone as normal." I nod and put my shirt back over my head and look at Eric. "You want me to show you to the dorm?" He asks. I hop off the little bed and nod.

"So,  your ashamed of your scar's?" He asks. "No." I say smiling. He looks a bit confused.

"Then what?" He asks.

"You'll see.."
