{Regina's POV}
I rush to meet Henry where we said. If I don't show up on time, he would start to freak out. And given the history of this town, I wouldn't blame him. My phone rings. Without looking at the caller ID, I answer.
"So what do we do now dearie?" Gold asks on the other line.
"That's the problem Dark One, I don't know," I answers still confused about this whole day.
"Gold, if we thought defeating her last time was hard, this-this will be nearly impossible."
"Are you sure it was her? Who knows? Maybe your mother had more than just two kids,"
"Gold," I say sternly while interrupting him, "I think my mother isn't that stupid to make the same mistake twice," I say Gold, waiting for a reaction.
"Yes well you would be surprised," he says not exactly explaining what he meant.
"So what are we going to do? We can't just sit around and wait for her to strike. We have to set up a plan, trap, anything."
"Alright, but first we need to gather a little more proof. It's impossible that she is alive once again. No. Not after," Gold stopped. The way his voice sounded gave away he knew more than he was leading on.
"What did you do?" I demanded.
"Why absolutely nothing. I would be a little more considerate seeing how you came to me for help."
"It was you wasn't it?" I say although I already know the answer.
"Why I have no idea what you're talking about," he says.
"So if I was to confront her and ask her about how about the little video we saw in the station, your name won't pop up?" I ask waiting for a confession.
"Look Regina, I get you are a bit sadden over the current state of your love life, but others are completely happy with theirs." Gold says.
Current? What was he talking about? The last thing that ever happened was Daniel dying. Well that and Graham. Gold must have noticed that I didn't say anything back.
"What?" I ask.
"That sound in your voice. It seemed as if you were no long affected. As if you no longer cared," he says. I can imagine him now with that creepy observant look on him face.
"Cared about what?" I asked still wanting to know what he was talking about.
"Regina?" he says sounding worried, "Please tell me you didn't."
"I would love to, but to tell you I didn't I would have to know what you are talking about," I say putting my hands on my hips stopping in my place.
"Please tell me you didn't pull out your heart. With Zelena back, she could try to find it and use it to her advantage again" he calmly says.
"Last time I check I still have my beating heart in my chest. Why wouldn't I?" I ask hoping he would finally give me some answers.
"Oh, nothing. Just worried, dearie." he says.
"We need to inform the others. I am not a big fan of that, but we don't really have a choice now do we?" I say as I continue walking.
"Don't worry, they will find out soon enough," I hear him say before he hangs up.
I look up from putting up my phone. The people are just walking in the sidewalks, not knowing the threat we have once again. I start to walk home when I remember something halfway there. I pull my phone out of my pocket and check the time.
"Shoot," I say to myself. I am suppose to meet Henry in five minutes. I swear that conversation with Gold lasted a lifetime. According to Gold it has something to do with my love life.
Oddly enough, it sounded like it was connected to whatever Henry was talking to me about earlier. According to them, this event just happened and was suppose to leave me heartbroken. So heartbroken that I would pull out my heart. The only time I even considered doing so was when we went back to the Enchanted Forest. At the time, I thought I would never see Henry again and the thought was too painful to bare. For a moment, I did have my heart in someplace but where it belonged. In the place that would bring the pain of a thousand gunshots.
Not only that, but also the way they both sounded when they realized I didn't know what they were talking about. At first, they sounded so sure about what they were talking about. Then they sounded like they were choosing their words carefully. Or at least Gold was. Henry dropped the topic which he only does when he has something in mind.
I was in such deep thought, that I didn't realize I passed the park. I pull my focus to see where I am. It turns out I walked to a cafe. I might as well get something for the both of us to explain why I was late.
I open the door and wall in. The line seems pretty long, only about five feet between the door and the back of the line. As I get in line, the person in front of me puts his hands in his pocket. My phone starts to ring, so I reach back into my pocket and pull it out. The caller id says its Henry.
Hopefully he's not there yet.
"Henry hey," I say as I answer the phone.
"Hey mom," he says through the other line, "I might be a little late. I was helping Mary Margaret with baby Neal. Are you there yet?"
"Not yet. I stopped by a cafe to get us some snacks. I'll be there in about fifteen minutes," I say. Thank you person who invented cell phone to hide whether we're lying or not.
"Ok cool. I'll see you there in a bit. Bye mom."
"Ok, bye Henry," I say as I hang up. He never hangs up, he always waits for me to do it.
Just as I hang up I get another call. My phone lights up and the call id this time says Gold. I sigh as I pick up the phone.
"What?" I say, clearly annoyed as we just talked less than thirty minutes ago.
"Just a quick question," he replies well aware of my annoyance.
"You mean more than what you already asked?"
"Won't take more than a second dearie," he responds on the other end.
"Well ask it already."
"Who had your heart the first time Zelena was looking for it?" he asks.
