Butterflies

The sun shone down on all the tourists milling about in a mix of euphoria and sunstroke.

Etta sat watching the various interesting faces, and eavesdropped on the more interesting sounding conversations.

*3:26 PM*

She frowned slightly as she looked up from her phone, he was almost half an hour late.
The previous couple of days had been filled with lots of risky texts and nervous waiting. Since Todd had texted her that first time all she could think about was the next time they would be able to meet. She had been busy again with work the past few days but had made sure to arrange to see him on her next free day.

So there she was, sitting, waiting. She checked the time again. She felt more nervous with anticipation than she had ever felt before.
"Etta!"
she looked up at the person standing own front of her, immediately all anxiety lifted from her body.
She grinned as she stood up and embraced the panting boy in front of her.
"why are you so sweaty?"
"I ran here, Im so sorry I'm late! the traffic was so bad and then I couldn't find a park and my roommates dog peed on my shoe"

"Its okay! Wait did you say your roommates dog peed on your shoe"

"Yeah! To be fair she is just a puppy though"

She smiled up at him, "well its okay, you're here now. Ready to teach me?"
he grinned back at her, "ready as I'll ever be!"

"Yes, yes. Hold on to me!"
Etta held on to his hand for dear life as she practised pushing of the ground. Toddy had spent all afternoon teaching her the basics of how to skate, and she was beginning to get the hang of it. She felt him loosen his grip on her hand, and tried to remain calm.

"You've totally got this, just remember to balance!"
she pushed off again and just like that she was skating. She screamed in delight. "Im doing it! Toddy look at me! Oh My God!" she gradually slowed to a holt, and jumped off the board. she turned and ran back to Toddy, jumping into his arms. he caught her and held on as she wrapped him into a tight hug "Thankyou, thankyou! that was so much fun!"

She looked deep into his eyes and smiled subtly and sweetly.

"You're, very very welcome" he whispered, as he closed the gap in between them. The kiss was gentle and filled her stomach with butterflies. her heart raced as she felt everything, wrapped up in his arms. Warmth rushed over her, and a sense of excitement filled every essence of her being.
she pulled away and slowly lowered her legs to the ground, she nuzzled her head into his chest and looked out a the sun setting over the horizon.
"That was beautiful" she whispered into his chest. 

He grinned as he looked down at her.

"You're beautiful."
