Chapter 5 Hot Chocolate and Training

Ven woke up early and slipped outside to train on the mountain.
But when Aqua showed up, she laughed to see Ven asleep, not training, on the mountain. Pulling a blanket onto the boy, Aqua sat next to him and sighed. "Room for one more?" Aqua looked over and saw Terra, with two more blankets.
"Terra," She said, surprised. "There's always room for you."
Terra sat down and handed Aqua one of the blankets. "Here. Wouldn't want anyone to freeze."
Ven shifted and Terra placed a hand on the younger boys back. "I know Ven's ready for this," he said. "But I'm not sure I'm ready to see him grow up."
Aqua placed a hand on top of Terra's. "Neither am I. But Xena is important to him and we both promised a long time ago to help him find the important things in life."
Terra nodded, clutching Aqua's hand. "I know. But I made another promise to you. One I plan to fulfil."
He leaned forward.
Aqua pushed him away. "Terra. We haven't in a long time. Don't start now."
Terra nodded again, his lips pushed against themselves. "I understand," he pulled a mug out and poured two cups of hot chocolate. "Here."
Aqua took the cup and looked down the mountain at the clouds beneath them. "Terra. I'm not angry. But not until Ven is cared for."
Terra drank his own cup and fallowed her gaze. "Right. That was part of the deal. I'm just too ahead of myself."
Aqua felt Ven's head shift under her arm and looked down. Ven had a slight smile on his face. Terra reached out and brushed Ven's hair away from his face. "He's going to be fine." He said.

When Ven woke up, he saw Aqua and Terra, asleep, leaning on each other and grinned. "So, was the sky really good or did you both just fallow me?" He asked, waking them up. Terra looked embarrassed. "We just fallowed you," Aqua said. "But now we need to start training."
Ven summoned Wayward Wind and training started.
Two hours passed before Ven asked for a brake. Terra sat next to him. "Not bad," he said. "But not great ether. You left too many openings for an opponent to strike you down, mostly here, here, and here." Terra poked Ven's upper arm, lower left leg, and middle.
Ven looked down and nodded. "Right." He knew those were his week points and made a mental note to practice defending those areas.
Terra ruffled Ven's blond hair. "Relax. Your doing really good for your first day. Plus the few lessons last year when we weren't busy looking for Sora, it puts you in a really good spot."
"Yeah, but if he was that good, Aqua wouldn't have called us in." A voice said from behind.
Ven turned and saw Axel, Xion, Roxas, and Riku. "Oh crap." He muttered.

Riku watched Ven fight Axel. The fighting patterns were similar but Axel was stronger and beat Ven. He asked Ven something and the boy shook his head, wanting to continue. Roxas replaced Axel and the two boys struck Keyblades as Terra stepped over to Riku. "What do you think?" Terra asked.
Riku shrugged. "I see potential. But why the speed up? It's not like any of you are dying."
Terra pulled out a piece of paper. "No. But he has a mission."
Riku took the offered paper and read it. "Xena? Is she someone we'd know?" He asked, handing the paper back.
Terra shook his head. "No. And apparently she's never seen Ven before. But somehow their memories became connected and he's visited her twice."
"Twice?"
Terra nodded again, his eyes never moving from Ven. "He says she's been waiting for her Master for two months and wants to free her. A Masters Oath is holding her down, wherever she is, and Ven intends to break her free."
Riku looked back as Ven cut Roxas down. "So he want to become a master? Sounds familiar."
Terra scoffed. "I know. I'm going for mine tomorrow with Yen Sid. Aqua doesn't know and nether does Ven."
Riku nodded. "I see. Do you want me nearby?"
"Yes." Terra said, feeling more at ease.
