Chapter 8 A fight for freedom
Ven paused as the Darkside lunged forward. Ducking, Ven thought hard. If Roxas was being controlled by Xehanort, then the Darkside was Roxas, like when Tera was being controlled.
Ven charged at the Darkside and Roxasnort snapped his fingers. Black chains flung themselves at Ven, locking his arms to his side.
"Ugh!"
Roxasnort laughed, tugging on the chains. "You can't escape these, Ven," He said. "They may seem weak, but there our bond."
Ven struggled. "Roxas.....You have to.....fight this! Ugh!" The chains tighten around his neck, chocking him.
The Darkside grabbed Roxasnort and clawed at its face. "Ven....." It said. "I.....I'm fighting......it......"
Suddenly the dream Roxasnort vanished and Roxas dropped to the ground, now normal but tired.
Ven walked over and pulled Roxas out of the dream.
The last thing Ven saw was Riku, Axel, and Terra.**********************************
Aqua looked over as Ven slept on. He had collapsed after pulling Roxas out of the nightmare and still hadn't woken and as no one else could dive into dreams like Ven, they couldn't just reach in and pull him out.
Sighing, Aqua sat down on the edge of the bed and pulled out her Wayfinder. "I hope your listening," she said. "We need you and so does Xena." Placing the Wayfinder beside Ven, Aqua stood and left the room. Chirithy peered out and jumped onto the bed, next to the Wayfinder. It sat there in silence, simply waiting.**********************************
Xena looked up from her journal as a knock came at the door. "Who is it?" She asked, standing up. She would have summoned her Keyblade but she knew it would fail.
The knocking paused then a voice spoke. "I....is that you Xena?"
Xena furrowed her brow. The voice seemed familiar but she couldn't place it. "Yes." She finally said.
The knob of the room twisted and the door swung open. A figure walked in, closing the door behind them. Xena noticed they wore a black coat, like her, but theirs was covered in dark green and a few light blue crack lines."W...Who are you?" She asked, slightly intimidated by the colours.
"You don't recognize your own master?" The figure asked, pulling up a sleeve to show three cuts on the skin. "Xena. It's me, Xeno. I've come to take you with me."
"Xeno," Xena cried. "Your....here!" She ran over and hugged her brother.
Xeno hugged Xena tight. "I'm here, little sis." He whispered. Pulling away, Xena smiled up at her bother. "I have a confession to make," she stared, but Xeon put up a hand, stopping her. "We don't have time. I recently received word that someone is trying to turn you into a puppet for their own uses. We need to leave at once."
Xena frowned. "Xeno. This isn't funny," she said. "I..."
"You wouldn't have heard about it," Xeno interrupted. "Because your the target. Grab your things. We'll need to leave at once."
Xena put her foot down and summoned her Keyblade. "No! I want to know who's trying to do such a horrible-"
"The Guardians of Light," Xeno said. "Mostly a boy named Ven."
"Ven?" Xena asked weakly. The same Ven she'd met with three times? The Ven she'd confessed that she was ready to leave Blackstone Hotel and fallow him?
"Do you know that name?" Xeno asked. "Your pale and shaking."
Xena looked down. Her hands were shaking and the Keyblade dropped to the ground. "I.....I..." She couldn't create a full sentence.
Xeno walked over and put a hand on her shoulder. "Xena. Look at me."
Her eyes remained glued to the floor. She was remembering a time that she'd looked into his eyes. Their sliver colour had held her hypnotized for a whole day and she didn't want to forget Ven.
Xeno shook her. "Xena!" His voice was loud. "You've met him, haven't you? This Ven?"
She nodded. "Yes. And I'm not forgetting him." She slammed her Keyblade into his jaw, knocking him away.
Xeno pulled his pure black Keyblade out and the room faded away, creating a open field. "You've betrayed the Masters Oath!" He screamed. "You've betrayed me! And all our family has built!"
"No," Xena said. "I've chosen to carve my own path." She charged at Xeno and their Keyblades clashed.****************************
Aqua heard the sounds of Keyblades clashing and walked into the the training room. No one was there, but the sound remained. Shaking her head, Aqua turned away and walked back into the hall. Stepping away from the room, Aqua heard more clashing and a voice. "Your a fool to believe you can escape your destiny,"
Frowning, Aqua moved towards the voice. It lead her down to the library, where Tera was reading. "Aqua? What's...."
"Shhh!" Aqua put a finger to his mouth. "Can't you hear it? Keyblade fighting and voices?"
Terra shook his head. "You sure your okay?" He asked softly, fallowing Aqua.
She shook her head. "No I'm not, but I have to find the source."
Terra fallowed Aqua to a shelf and watched as she ran a finger along the spines.
"Here." Using both hands, Aqua pulled the books towards herself. The shelf moved away from the wall, leading down a flight of stairs. Aqua took a deep breath and stepped down. Instantly she fell to the ground, out-cold.
