Rainer POV
Trauma is personal. It doesn't disappear if it's not validated.
I sigh as the walls become part of a fun house. I gripped the bottle of scotch, taking a long swig of the dark substance. I sit back in my brown leather office chair. Watching a hot brunette dressed in red laced underwear snort a line as she sat on my lap. While the blonde in black laced underwear sat on my desk, running her fingers through my hair.
It's like a void. A never ending dark void that consumes everything, so you're left feeling nothing. Empty. Completely numb. I'm just a body going through the motions.
The music is so loud I didn't even hear Jaden come through the door. But I could tell he was mad cussing up a storm. He snatches the speaker, I watch him walk over to the window nearby and tosses it through.
"Damn it, Rainer!" He cursed, slamming the files from his hands before me.
"Could you give us a minute?" I slurred to the lovely ladies. They gave me a kiss on each side of my cheeks. I watch their cute asses leave my office before Jaden slamming the door.
Couple more weeks before our senior year of high school starts. Although I'm not sure I should even go. I really don't see the point considering I mostly skip. But Luke and Jaden think it'll keep me sane, whatever that means.
"What the fuck are you doing?" Jaden crosses his arms as he shifts his weight to one side.
"Well I was having fun." I stretch my legs out in front of me to rest on my desk. Closing my eyes as I rest my hands behind my head.
"We have shit to get done. I have people up my ass about the deals we haven't finalized. We got a few weeks left before school-"
"You should hit a line. Ya seem stressed."
I felt his hands swipe my feet from the desk, "Look, don't think I don't know what today is. You're not the only one dealing with it"
My eyes widen at his sudden action.
"Maybe you have given up, but we didn't. We haven't stopped looking for-"
"Don't you fucking say it!" I got up from my seat, too quickly. I held onto the edge of my desk regaining my balance. "Don't you dare mention her name!"
2 years
Today makes it 2 years since her disappearance. I think she's been dead for a while. But the others seem to think otherwise. Even though we haven't heard or seen any proof of her existence. When it first happened, of course we looked nonstop for months.
But after a year went by, the hope I had faded away. If I can't find my sister, what makes you think I can find her. So I've accepted the fact that she's dead just like my sister.
"You're pathetic." Jaden scoffs.
"Well, what do you want from me?"
"You've completely shut us out. You're not the only one who lost her. So I think you are being ridiculous." Jaden finds my eyes as I shook my head.
"I'm being realistic!"
"YOU'RE GIVING UP!"
"She's dead!" My outburst made Jaden flinch and I know it wasn't because of my tone.
