The Fire Among Us

Chapter 4

The thing I saw in that cave was... I don't even know how to say it. I'm just going to play it as a first person point of view.

So, Topaz and I walked across the beach, into the cave. It was pitch black, so I opened my hand, and formed a levitating fireball. I tripped a lot that my toes forced me to take a rest. That's when I heard a little pebble drop on the stone floor. "Topaz, was that you?" I asked with fright. "I was going to ask if that was you," she replied. I was scared out of my skin. My brain wanted to turn back, but my eager taste for adventure pulled me closer. That's when I saw her, not Topaz, but another Nightwing. The sight made me speechless, not that she was another Nightwing, but because she was levitating, on a rock platform meditating. I didn't want to disturb her, but then, out of nowhere, I heard a distant "Hello? Can you hear me?"

Things were difficult to explain after that. Turns out that this mystery dragon's name is Moonwings, and she's the guardian of the rocks and she can move rocks and stuff and I was the guardian of fire, which explains my ability. Also, all the guardians can communicate with their minds if we're close enough. Topaz got taken by the Hivewing rescue patrol, and me and Moonwings were sitting next to a tree, in a forest. Now, it's nighttime, so it was dark, and since we were in a forest, it was darker. "So, what's our plan right now," I said, "we can't stay here forever." "Well, there are two more guardians: one on Pantala, and one on Pyrrhia. There's one seawing, the guardian of water, and one's a leafwing, the guardian of air. So, I suggest we go after the guardian of air, because he's on this island, then we go after the guar-," "or maybe we go after my friend first," I interrupted, "we don't know what the hell they're doing to her." "Fine," she replied.
