Chapter 5~
Kid's new relationship was the talk of the school, he didn't really take notice. He was always taking Suki out, not letting go of her for a minute.
She was always happy when she was with him. But he was annoyingly...clingy. He was always ringing her up, asking where she was, and then 'bumping' into her there, this was a regular bad habit. He put it down to coincidence, but always being where she was? She was unsure about that.
They walked through school, hand in hand. Kid had his other hand in his pocket, and was annoyed that he wasn’t symmetrical, yet he didn’t make a sound.
“I have to quickly run an errand, wait here for me?” He stopped at some lockers.
“Okay, don’t take too long” Suki made him promise. It wasn’t a ‘romantic’ “don’t take too long” she was just impatient.
“Alright” He walked away until he was out of sight. After 10 minutes she got impatient and went to find him. She was about to turn a corner when she saw him talking through a mirror to his dad, she stepped back around the corner, successfully avoiding him seeing her. They were talking about her.
“How are you? Good to see ya! Have you kept a close eye on Suki?” She heard his dad question.
“Yes, I’ve kept her under my constant vision, are you sure this is a good idea?” Kid sighed.
“Yes, yes. As long as you’re pretending to date her, she probably won’t do anything stupid” Suki’s eyes held back burning tears. He’s pretending to date me!? She thought.
“Yeah, yeah I know….This is so harsh though” She heard Kid sigh.
“It’s what we can do to guarantee the safety of our school and students. By having them at the DWMA we can keep track on what they’re doing, for all we know, they could be plotting against us!” lord Death said, as if he knew. Suki leaned against the wall and slid down to her knees, tears threatening to escape her eyes. She had been played.
Footsteps got louder in her ears and she could see someone standing next to her in the corner of her tearing up eyes. She didn’t have to look to know it was Kid.
“Suki?” A smooth voice asked her. She stood up.
“Suki?” He repeated and put his hand on her shoulder, “what’s wro-?” He was cut off by Suki pushing him so hard, that he flew back into the wall, and dinting it. He fell to his knees, gasping for breath.
“How dare you play with my heart” She growled angrily. Kid’s eyes widened.
“Suki!” That was the only thing she’d let him say before she began to punch him, over and over again in the gut. She kept hitting him for what seemed an eternity to Kid. When she finally came to her senses, she burst out crying. Betrayal was the only emotion she could recognise right now.
Kid’s POV-
He was bruised and battered and was only able to sit up by leaning against the wall. He could be sure at least 2 of his ribs were broken, and the searing pain in his arm told him it was broken.
He looked at the crying mess Suki was, her head leaning against his chest as she realised what she was doing. With all his strength he managed to lift his arm and set it comfortingly in the centre of her back, to which he got a slap clean across the face.
“Don’t touch me!” She screamed at him, wiping her tears away.
“Suki, please” He pleaded, sounding a bit desperate. Soul, Maka, Black*Star Tsubaki and Kaori came running, hearing the impact of Suki’s punches all the way from the courtyard, and were shocked at what they found.
“I can’t believe you would treat me like that! I can’t believe you would pretend to love me just so I could be like your puppet! You were pulling the strings!” She yelled at him, he looked down.
“I wanted to fit in! I didn’t want to hurt anybody!” She explained, still yelling.
“But I really did…” She shoved him hard against the wall by his throat.
“Don’t you dare tell me you really do love me, that is a lie and you know it” She spat, his amber eyes looking straight into hers.
“Don’t talk to me anymore” She shoved him again before getting up and leaving.
