I know it's been a while since our eyes last met

Andito na naman ako. Ilang taon na nga ba ang lumipas nong huli kong punta dito? 5 years? 8? Hindi ko na alam. Ang alam ko lang ay matagal na. I don't really count days or years or whatever.
Bumalik na ako sa Pilipinas after so many years of staying away from the place. Sadly, it's because my brother is sick and is dying. I wouldn't even want to go back here kung hindi lang nagmakaawa si Mom na bumalik ako para makita ko si kuya bago man lang siya mawalan ng buhay.
You see, my brother got his death sentence already. His doctor said he has 1 month left, and as his dying wish he asked mom to ask me to go back here. I've got no contact with them after I left kaya nagtaka ako how mom managed to contact me.
We aren't in good terms, kami ng kuya ko. He's the reason why I went away. Don't get me wrong, I love him. I love him so much that's why I decided to go far away from this place and give up something I did not know I could ever give up. I gave up my life just to give him his.
Ngayon hindi ako makapaniwalang mawawala na siya. It felt unfair, kasi I gave up for him to live tapos mamamatay lang siya? What bullshit is that right?
I decided to head straight to the hospital para makita si kuya since wala naman akong dalang mga bagahe, just few clothes kasi I don't want to stay too long.
I was standing in front of his hospital room and was about to knock when a cute little girl, maybe 5 or 6 years old, poked my legs. I looked down and asked her what she wants.
"Are you friends with my dad? Why are you in front of his door?" she cutely answered me with another question.
I was stunned.
They have a daughter. I have a niece. Wow. I mean, at least my sacrifice paid off right? We have this cute little angel here.
"Yes, I'm a friend of your dad princess."
"I never saw you before." I chuckled after hearing her answer.
"It was because I am from far away."
"Oh! Are you the one mammoo was talking about? You're my daddy's brother, you're my tito!" I laughed this time because she was literally jumping around.
"Yes princess, I am your uncle. Now is your mom inside?" I asked.
I don't think I can see her now.
"Yes she is she's with mammoo. I went outside to buy something to eat but I forgot to ask for money."
"Oh! How about we go back there and buy you some snack? Is that good?" I asked her. I just can't see her mom and her dad inside. I went here to see my brother and say my final goodbye. That's it and I'll be gone again, I don't have the plan of meeting his family; although this little angel here is really cute.
"But aren't you going to meet dad inside?"
"Oh it can wait princess. Let's go?
"Okay!" she answered giggling.
I texted mom na andito na ako and kasama ko yung anak ni kuya sa canteen ng hospital. She replied she'd get her since pauwi na din daw sila ng mama nong bata.
"What's your name po, tito?" I averted my gaze from my cellphone nong nag salita yung bata. She's busy munching some chips.
"I'm Alex. Call me tito Lex, okay?" I answered her and she enthusiastically nodded her head while her mouth is still full of chips.
Couple of minute later a girl called for the princess in front of me and as if she forgot about me, she went to her and hugged her. Before walking away the girl smiled at me. She's not familiar, I don't think I've seen her before, pero baka isa sa friends ni mama or ni kuya since madami naman siyang friends.
My mom texted me I could visit my brother na. I got up and went to his hospital room, this time I went inside.
No matter what I do still feel you coming back to me
When I know that you never will
So before I say goodbye, would do one last thing for me?
