Allegiant: if Tris hadn't died

Chapter sevennnn

Tris Pov again:

I stare at Tobias's back as he sprints away and open my mouth to say something, but it's too late, because as the first word "what" comes out, he has disappeared inside. I look down at the boy he placed next to me in curiosity. Where the heck did Tobias get this boy, and what does he have to do with anything? I stare at his light brown hair and the spray of freckles tossed across his face. I poke him in the side with my foot, confirming that he is indeed unconscious and not sleeping. I look at him more, and conclude that he's about 14 or 13, a few years younger than me. I suddenly get the feeling that he's familiar, but I don't know where from. I also get the urge to see what color his eyes are, and what they look like. I cautiously reach out my hand, and am just about to push open his eyelid, when I hear voices echoing somewhere in front of me. I flip my head up and gaze out at the landscape. About three blocks away are some people, bureau no doubt, talking to each other and gesturing with their guns. I sigh, glad that they are a reasonable distance away, that I have a hiding spot, and am, for the moment, safe. My attention returns to the boy. I reach down again and pull back his eyelid, looking at his eye. I jump back a little in shock. I've never seen eyes as green as this kid has. They look like the tropical waters of the ocean we learned about in school. Well... That's not necessarily true. I've seen eyes as green as these once before. They look like the eyes of my brother. I frown, a weird idea crossing my mind, but then I laugh a little. No, it couldn't be. I'm not related to this kid, I've never even seen him before! And he lives here in the bureau, not in the Chicago experiment. I laugh some more. It's just a coincidence. Right?
