Honestly, with how much I've already written for this, I feel like is should make it a separate book. Thoughts?

After getting the news, her doctors had put her back into a heavy set of chemo within the same week. Right now, she was still doing okay, but they all knew that as soon as the side effects hit her, it'd be hard.

When Kirstie told her mother the news, it was safe to say she was worried. Really worried, to the point she was sobbing into the phone with her daughter. That's why Scott had come up with the idea to take a road trip back home to Texas and visit their family.

Kirstie and Avi were planning to book a separate hotel room close to her mother's house, that way her mother wouldn't have to see her night of cold sweats and vomiting, and could spend some alone time with her boyfriend. She knew that it was tough on both of them. She wasn't able to do all the spontaneous things they used to do as a couple, but Avi swore that he still loves her just as much, and that they can wait until she's better to have those types of nights. She was still trying to convince herself he wasn't lying.

"You excited, Kit? We'll finally get a little time to ourselves, to be as sickeningly cute as we want without anyone complaining." Avi smiled at his girlfriend, kissing her cheek gently.

"Yeah." She smiled gently. "I haven't seen my mom in a while, or Olaf. And I get to spend every night, just the two of us. I'm just a little nervous." She explained, looking up at him. She hadn’t been allowed to have Olaf in California because she was never well enough to take him for a walk and there was the risk of him bringing germs into the house when her immune system was severely compromised, but she could finally have Olaf snuggles.

"Kit, It's your mom. She's always gonna love you, no matter what." He reminded her, leaning down to scoop her into his arms, making the woman squeal.

"Avi!" She laughed gently, giggling softly at him. He always had managed to use his giddy personality to make her happy. It was one of the reasons she loved him. She still remembered the way he charmingly managed to ask her out, with the cutest, most goofy words picks out.

She smiled at him as he carried her to the car, bags already in the trunk. Scott was driving, with Mitch in the front seat and Kevin, Avi and Kirstie in the backseat.

"We ready to get this trip on the road? We've got a forty hour road trip again, so we'll trade drivers in a few hours." He instructed. Kirstie frowned, she hated that she couldn't help drive, but they never knew when she'd feel too weak, or her chemo side effects would kick in.

The group all cheered, Scott beginning the drive. They were mostly just having conversations of whatever came to mind, Mitch choosing to plug in his headphones and listen to music instead. Kirstie started to get tired pretty early into the drive. She hadn't been able to sleep much the night before, so Avi, bring the living person he was, stayed awake to hold her, but he seemed to be doing much better than she was.

She felt her eyes start to droop, trying to keep herself awake as best she could. She didn't want to make the boys think they were boring her or she wasn't having fun. Avi was the first to notice, his arm around her shoulders when she leaned further into his side.

"Get some rest, Kit-Kat. You need it." He promised her, and eventually, she obeyed. The rest of the ride consisted of Kirstie sleeping on and off for the most part, the first sign of her chemo kicking in; fatigue.

The trio were all excited to see their families, and Kirstie knew she wouldn't see much of her two best friends, they should be spending that time with their family, not her. She was excited to get to spend more time with Avi, knowing Kevin was going to visit a friend that lives in Texas for at least one day of the visit. The drive was long, and by the time they had dropped off the other two Texans at their family homes, Kirstie was exhausted, sleeping next to Avi. They were planning to say a quick hello to Angelica, Gracie, and Olaf before heading to a hotel.
