Gentle hands were shaking me awake. Groaning, I turned over. I wasn't hungry, I just wanted more sleep. The hands, however, had different ideas.

"Miss, come now. It's time for you to rise. The master is waiting for you." A thick welsh accent brought me out of a drowsy haze. I put the blanket over my face. "Miss you're going to be late." The hands, belonging to what sounded like a man, shook me again.

I sighed and sat up, coming face to face with an older man dressed in all black. His face was wrinkled and worn, but not intimidating. It almost seemed like those lines came from years of smiling and laughter. He must've seen the confusion on my face.

"Hello there Miss Brynn, you can call me Poe," He said kindly. "Now, best be up and getting ready, we don't want to keep the master waiting. Gets very impatient, he does."

"What master? The master of the Manor died years ago. That's why they made it into a school," I told him. As inviting as he seemed, this guy had to be crazy. Maybe it's a test. Either way, I did my research on this school, and there's no was in hell I was going with this guy.

"All will be explained when we get there, miss. Please, we have to leave soon," Poe persisted, a slight hint of anxiety in his voice.

"Fine, fine. But I'm taking my phone." Gotta have something that had my location. I sat up and stretched, walking over to my trunk of clothes. There really wasn't much, so I settled for a black t-shirt and some skinny jeans.

"You look lovely, miss. Now, shall we be off?" Poe asked, heading for the door of my room. I gave him a simple nod of my head, grabbing my cell phone and sliding it into my pocket.

Poe led me out of the manor to an ornate, horse-drawn carriage in the parking lot. I couldn't help but stare. How could he have snuck in here without anyone noticing? The brush of a shoulder against mine brought me out of my haze, a warm smile on Poe's face. He opened the carriage door for me, and it took everything I had to stifle a giggle. The look on his face suggested he was completely serious, but I couldn't help it.

Once I finally got settled, I felt myself lurch forward, and we were off. Heading to God knows where, and to meet God knows whom.

**Hi! Tristan here. I know this chapter took FOREVER, like five months forever, but school had been kicking my butt for quite some time. Hopefully with this new found downtime I'll be able to update it more often ^-^**
