LAUREN'S POV

It's already 2:00 am and here i am, staring at the ceiling while drowning myself to a lot of thoughts that are mostly about Ashley and what happened at the bridge.

"Can't sleep?" Karla asked. She probably see me since it's not that dark in our room and i decided to take off our borderline.

I didn't remove my eyes on the ceiling as i speak. "Yeah."

"Me too."

"I have a good news."

"What is it?"

"Ashley and Noah broke up."

A silent surround us for a minute before she speaks again.

"And?"

"We talked about it at the bridge. She told me everything and i guess that's the reason why they're here."

"And?"

I shift my eyes on Karla and look at her while she's also staring at the ceiling.

"That's it, we just talked."

"With a kiss?" Karla asked, not bothering to look at me as if her eyes are fixed on the ceiling.

"You can finally get your boyfriend back. Aren't you happy?" I asked, changing the topic before i shift my eyes back on the ceiling.

"I am, ofcourse." Karla replied but she sounds the opposite of what she just said.

"I guess this is it, the end of our deal."

"He's not courting me."

"Maybe right now he doesn't but i know he will."

"Are you..Are you excited to finish this deal?"

I nodded. "So we can finally focus on our goals." I replied, hinting about the competition.

"So when we go back to the city, everything will be back to normal? you hating me, not talking to me and stuff?" I shift my eyes on her direction and look at her. I may not see her face clearly but i can sense the sadness on her voice.

The Karla I'm talking right now is so different from the one i always knew.

"Aren't we always like that? hating each other?"

"That gig, Margaret stole them, not me. I'm trying to keep you, Lauren."

"What we had here stays here. I'm happy to get to know the other side of you because of this youth camp." I smiled timidly before i turn around to face the wall.

"I will miss this." Karla mumbled but enough for me to hear it. Sadness is still evident on her voice.

I don't know why but hearing her being like this makes my chest heavy.
