My boyfriend Cory and I were at the carnival celebrating our four month anniversary. Cory wasn't too thrilled to be there since he was terrified of heights and didn't like big rides. Roller coasters, Ferris wheels, literally anything that goes higher than three feet off the ground, Cory would not go on. At one point, Cory and I walked past a roller coaster.

"That looks fun! Cory, we should ride that together!" I exclaimed, pointing at the roller coaster.

Cory's eyes got wide as soon as he saw what I was pointing at.

"No. No way," he said while looking up at the highest part of the roller coaster.

We watched as the roller coaster climbed all the way to the top of the hill, stopped for a few seconds, then plummeted down the hill at what looked like lightning speed.

"Yeah...no," said Cory, starting to walk away.

"Come on, Cory. Please?" I begged, grabbing onto his arm.

"But why? he asked as I started pulling him towards the line. "I don't like this."

"But it's fun!"

"No it's not. It's completely horrifying."

I rolled my eyes.

"It's not that scary. And besides, we're already in line."

"But we can get out of line."

"Nope. We're here and we're staying."

"But I-"

"Cory!"

Cory let out a deep sigh and looked at the ground in defeat.

"Fine. I'll do it for you."

"Good," I said, smiling at him.

We waited in line for quite a while. Cory would occasionally try to sneak out of the line, but I caught him every time and pulled him back into the line with me. Finally, it was our turn on the ride. Cory slowly made his way to one of the cars and I followed him.

"You ready?" I asked Cory as I hopped into the car he was already sitting in.

He took a deep breath and buckled his seat belt.

"Well I can't exactly get off now," he said.

The roller coaster started with a jerk. The cars slowly crept up the track. I grabbed his hand just to let him know I was there. Soon, the cars reached the top of the hill. Cory squeezed his eyes shut.

"I hate you Y/N," he muttered.

"No, you love-" I began to say, but all of a sudden, the roller coaster started speeding down the hill.

I screamed and Cory just started laughing.

As soon as the ride was over, I quickly got out of the car. Cory was still laughing.

"We're never riding that again!" I exclaimed, sitting on a nearby bench.

Cory looked at me and smirked.

"I'm definitely okay with that."
