cory's best friend | s. hunter

I got out of the car, walking towards the big white house we just parked in front of. I was in Philadelphia for a few days to visit my childhood friend Cory, who I have not seen since I was ten. I'm an only child, so he was like a brother to me. I was super excited to see him again. I went up to the door, but before I could knock, the door swung open and Cory was standing there with a big smile on his face.

"Y/N!!!" Cory exclaimed before pulling me in for a hug.

"Hey, Cory. How have you been?" I asked.

"Pretty good. Man, you've gotten taller. Come on in, it must be cold for you."

I walked into the house and sat down on the couch. Eric and Morgan, Cory's brother and sister, both ran out from the kitchen and hugged me. Cory joined in.

"Hey, Y/N! Look at you all grown up!" Eric exclaimed.

"Do you have a boyfriend yet, Y/N?" Morgan asked.

I laughed. "No Morgan. No boyfriend yet."

"Hey Y/N, my best friend and girlfriend are coming over later today. Is that alright with you?" Cory asked.

"Uh sure, I don't mind." I said kind of disappointed because now Cory would be more interested in talking to them than his old friend.

Later I was hanging out in Cory's room listening to him talk about his baseball trophies, when the doorbell rang. Cory quickly dashed out of his room and down the stairs.

"They're here!!" I heard him yell from the staircase.

Great.

I quickly walked out of the room and down the stairs, and when I reached the bottom, Cory's girlfriend walked in.

"Topanga, this is my childhood friend, Y/N. And Y/N, this is my girlfriend Topanga," Cory said as he walked her over to me.

"Hi, Y/N! Oh my God, you are so pretty!" Topanga exclaimed, holding out her hand.

"Thank you, so are you!" I said, shaking her hand.

Just then, a boy wearing a leather jacket walked in. He had dark brown hair and the most beautiful eyes I ever seen. They were really blue, almost like a deep blue. He was cute. Really cute.

"And Y/N, this is my best friend Shawn. Shawnie, meet my friend. Y/N." said Cory.

"Hi, Y/N. I'm Shawn," the boy said with a smile.

"Hi," I said shyly.

"Come on guys, let's go get some snacks," said Cory, motioning towards the kitchen.

Cory let Topanga and I walk in front of him and Shawn. As I was heading towards the kitchen, I listened to Cory and Shawn's conversation.

"So, she's your friend?" I heard Shawn ask.

"Correct," said Cory.

"Wow. She's really pretty."

"Ooooh Shawnie! You like my friend!"

"Cory, quiet down! She's right in front of us."

I smiled. Maybe having Shawn over wasn't going to be so bad.
