Fortune's Fool (Hannibal Fanfiction)

FOREWORD

FOR THE READER: If you haven't watched the show Hannibal before or aren't familiar with the characters of Thomas Harris's tetralogy of novels, this is everything you need to know to read this fic:

● Hannibal Lecter is a cannibalistic serial killer, the infamous Chesapeake Ripper, but he hasn't been caught yet. He used to be a surgeon and is now a well-known and respected psychiatrist in Baltimore, Maryland. At the beginning of the show, he is approached by Agent Jack Crawford, who asks him to psychoanalyze Will Graham and be his unofficial psychiatrist.

● Will Graham is a professor at the FBI academy in Quantico, Virginia. He used to be a homicide detective, and at the beginning of the show, he is pulled back into the field by Agent Crawford to help solve murders. However, he isn't an official FBI agent because he didn't pass their strict screening procedures. He can understand serial killers and get into their heads, so he is a gifted profiler, but he is unstable. Hannibal is his unofficial psychiatrist and friend.

● Jack Crawford is the head of the FBI Behavioral Sciences Unit. He guilt-trips Will Graham into helping him solve murders and then requests that Hannibal keep an eye on Will's mental state, not knowing that Hannibal is the Chesapeake Ripper that he has been trying to catch for years.

P.S. I think it goes without saying, but as NBC's Hannibal is my main source material, there are MANY trigger warnings for this fic, including murder, cannibalism, and graphic violence....you know, everything that was in the original series. You have been warned.
