"Why?..."

"Why did you leave me, Uncle?"

"You promised..."

I slid my eyes open, only to be met with a pure white room. My lungs ached, and my head was pounding. I groaned and sat up, pressing a hand to my head. All my previous memories came flooding back into my mind, unleashing the minimal grip I had on my pitiful emotions.

'I'll...I'll kill whoever murdered uncle. I'll rip them to pieces! Use their bones as toothpicks!'

I stopped, bringing my knees to my chest and gripping tightly onto my untamed hair.

'N-No...I can't...'

I jumped as a large hand landed on my back. I lifted my head, looking up at a blond haired muscular man. His weight alone dipped the bed which caused me to slide further into his side.

"...do I know you?"

The man looked bewildered at my question, a bead of sweat rolling down the side of his face as he chuckled nervously.

"You don't recognize me?"

I studied him closely. He wore an unusual outfit, and an unmoving wide smile like his mouth was stuck like that. He was incredibly well built, and taller than anybody I've ever met. His hair was slicked back, apart from two long strands that stuck up in the air.

"Am I suppose to?"

He scratched the back of his head, sighing.

"No, I guess not. Anyway, how are you feeling? What you did was extremely reckless you know."

I looked down at my hands, nodding my head.

"I know. But my Uncle was in there. And...WAIT! Was there anybody else that escaped the fire?!"

"Well, yes. Most of the customers had got out well before it started, and the only body we found was.."

"My uncle's...so, did you by any chance see Thomas? H-He has long-ish brown hair, and brown eyes. Really tall, well built. Short temper."

All Might thought to himself for a moment before answering.

"No, I didn't. Is he somebody important to you?"

I opened my mouth before closing it again, silently shaking my head.

"It doesn't matter..."

"Alright. Well I should be going. Somebody will be here later to pick you up. Get some rest."

Before I could ask who, he was gone in the blink of an eye. I laid down on my side, curling my knees to my chest. I closed my eyes, holding back the tears that sprung to my eyes.

I straightened out my clothing, staring at myself in the mirror. I felt empty. I lost everything in the span of a single day. It felt horrible.

I stepped out of the bathroom, only to be met with a familiar raven haired man standing by the window. His hands were stuffed in his pockets as he observed the outside scenery.

"It's you..."

He turned around, his dark onyx eyes meeting mine.

"Stop gawking, let's get going. I have places to be."

I quickly complied, grabbing my backpack and running after him. I chewed nervously on my lip, glancing up at him.

"My name is Aizawa Shota. You're (L/n) (Y/n), right? Daughter of the (L/.."

"DONT!...I'm not a (L/n). I never will be. So don't say their name..."

"If that's the case, is there anybody else you can stay with?"

"No...the only family I've ever known is dead."

I clenched my fists, anger bubbling within my chest. I could feel his eyes on me as he went quiet. There was a few minutes of silence as we walked before he let out a sigh.

"If you want, you can stay with me. But only until we find somewhere for you to live."

I looked up at him, a gleam in my eyes.

"Y-You mean it?"

His eyes slowly widened as he met my excited expression. He blinked, clearing his throat and looking away.

"Uh, yeah. It's no problem. Just..don't make any messes."

"Right!"

-2 weeks later-

I sat on the bed I was provided in Mr. Aizawa's house, my eyes trained on the tv. They were once again covering the story of the Casino, and the unsightly state it was in sent grief flooding through my veins. Suddenly the TV clicked off, causing me to turn around in search of the culprit.

"Mr. Aizawa! I was watching that!"

"Shut up and come downstairs. Dinner is ready."

I puffed out my cheeks in a pout but complied nonetheless. I followed after the tired looking man into the kitchen where two bowls of (F/Food) sat on the table. I happily sat down and began eating, enjoying the comfortable silence between us.

Mr. Aizawa cleared his throat, catching my attention.

"Myself and a few others made the decision that you would live here, and next year, attend UA as a hero in training."

I widened my eyes in shock, placing my utensils onto the table and giving him my full attention.

"M-Mr. Aizawa? I thought you said-.."

"Yeah well the plans have changed." He replied, monotonously. "And stop calling me Mr. Aizawa. It makes me feel old. Just call me Shota."

"R-Right. I'll try to remember that, and thank you for letting me stay here." I sent him a bright smile, warmth fluttering within my chest. He scoffed quietly, looking away.

"Stop looking at me like that, eat your food."

"Okay!"
