Chapter 5

-???'s POV-

"What's so special about this dumb brat anyway?"

I grumbled sourly under my breath, staring down at a low quality photo of a (H/c) haired girl. She was walking down the sidewalk with a tall ravenette.

"You'll find out in due time. For now, focus on the tasks at hand."

I put the picture down, nodding my head.

"Yes Master."

-(Y/n)'s POV-

I stretched my arm across my chest with a soft groan. Today was the day I did the private entrance exams as well as use it in public for the first time. I currently stood outside the gate, waiting for them to open so I could start. I wore a simple white t-shirt, black shorts, and a pair of sneakers. The large gates began to move, rumbling the ground as the sunlight burst through the growing crack. I stepped in, holding out my right arm to the side. Red marks grew out from under my shirt, glowing brightly against my (S/c) skin.

"Time to kick ass! Soul summon..." I could hear and see large robots approaching from all directions, their weapons raised and pointed right at me. I smirked, lowering my head and using my bangs to block the sunlight from hitting my eyes. "Angel Reaper"

A red satanic magic circle formed from my palm, a separate hand reaching out from it. A girl pulled herself out from the circle, a long scythe gripped securely in her hand. Her red eyes gleamed as she stood up next to me, a wide smirk adorning her face.

"Nice to see you again, Lady (Y/n)~"

"And you, Lefkó. Please deal with these hunks of junk for me."

"As you wish!~"

Lefkó grinned, large wings bursting from her back before she rushed forward. She easily cut through the robots, efficiently dodging their swinging arms and weapons.

She appeared at my side again, a few seconds of silence going by before multiple explosions lit up the fake city, the remaining beasts exploding all at once. My hair whipped back from the force, a small smile on my face.

"How many was that?" I turned to look at the white haired female as she sliced a piece of debris that came flying at us in half.

"178 exactly!" She whipped her scythe behind her, the sound of crunching metal reaching my ears as I looked behind to see another robot. "179 now!"

"Good. That should be enough. You're free to go." Lefkó nodded happily as I raised my hand, the same satanic circle glowing from my limb.

"I'll see you next time Lady (Y/n)! Please summon me more often! The others are so boring!"

"Of course, farewell."

I lowered my hand once the girl was gone.  I walked back out the gate, patting my stomach as it rumbled.

"I guess it's lunch time!"

-Timeskip-

-3rd Person POV-

A small creature sat quietly at his desk, sipping from a teacup with a smile on his face. He looked up as the door opened and a woman stepped inside.

"Midnight. It's good to see you again. Are the results in for the private examinees?"

The woman looked slightly troubled as she sat down in the chair in front of the desk. She held a stack of papers in her hand and placed them in front of the white creature known as the principle.

"Yes, only 3 passed. But there was one girl that I think you'll want to keep an eye on." The woman pulled out a package from the stack and placed it in front of the principle. He placed his teacup down and read through the sheet, humming in interest.

"179 robots in under 2 minutes? Are you sure?"

"Positive. I was there myself. It was crazy. And she didn't even have to take a single step the whole time! Some being she summoned out of her body did it all for her. We do not know the extent of her full capabilities yet, but one thing is for certain..."

He placed the sheet down, once again sipping from his tea with a much more serious expression.

"..She'll surely cause trouble for us in the near future."

-(Y/n)'s POV-

-2 weeks later-

I yawned, flipping through various tv channels. Shota was in the kitchen making dinner, his hair tied back into a ponytail. He's been awfully quiet ever since the sudden meeting he had went to right after the entrance exams. I sighed, switching off the tv and walking over to him. I leaned against the wall, swallowing quietly.

"You know...you've been really quiet lately Shota. Is something wrong?"

He briefly turned around to face me before turning his attention back on the food.

"No, nothing. I'm just tired. You know how it is."

I nodded, feeling a tinge of uncertainty in my chest.

"...right. Anyway, I'm going to take a bath. I'll be down later."

He didn't answer, leaving me to go upstairs in silence. I stepped into the bathroom and locked the door, proceeding to turn on the hot water and letting it slowly rise as I got undressed. Steam filled up the room, fogging up the mirrors. I left my discarded clothing on the floor as I turned off the tap after it was filled half way. The hot water felt nice as I sank down into it, all tension in my muscles practically melting away. I rested my back against the wall, staring up at the ceiling.

"What could be troubling him so much...I know that I haven't been here for that long but I still care about him..."

I washed my hair and body as I was lost in thought.

"(Y/n), your dinner is on the table. I'm going to bed."

Shota's voice reached my ears as I turned towards the door.

"Oh..okay! Goodnight."

"...yeah."

His footsteps disappeared back down the hall, the sound of a door shutting following moments after. I stood up out of the water and got out, wrapping a towel around my body. I pulled the plug in the bath before exiting the bathroom and heading into my room to get dressed.

I pulled on an oversized (F/c) hoodie and my underwear, the fabric almost reaching to my knees.

Once downstairs, I took notice of the (F/food) on the table. I sat alone, something common, but only when he was out late working. Today he was here, but he didn't wait for me.

"Whatever, maybe he just had a bad week."

I finished my food and washed my dishes before heading back up to my room. I curled up under the covers, closing my eyes.

"He'll probably feel better tomorrow."
