CHAPTER VI Using Lies as Alibis

"Bitch move!" Giselle shouted gaining a hint of road rage as her and Carter was in traffic, and the driver ahead of them was going below the speed limit. They were already five minutes late to their first appointment to hear their little ones heart beat, so she was already pissed.

"Calm down! You tryna kill me? My leg and lung already fucked up." Carter snapped, in a jokingly manner as he held on to the roof handle.

"I'm sorry bae, but this dumb ass bitch got me fucked up. Like why won't she go!" She said frustratedly before honking the horn.

"I'm just playing baby. I know, it look like an old lady." He said, squinting ahead.

Moments later, they pulled up in front of the main entrance of North Western Memorial Hospital, and Giselle stopped the car and valet approached them and  asked if she needed a wheel chair and she said no, she still had to assist Carter around since he was still having trouble walking straight. After getting his wheelchair out of the trunk and helping him they finally entered the hospital and got  on the elevator that led them to the floor they needed to be on and Giselle checked in and they sat down and waited to be called on by a nurse.

Carter looked around the waiting room, it was very simple with white walls and basic furniture, and only a few people were there. This was the same hospital that he had been in for weeks after the shooting and  he could've sworn that  he hated hospitals after being in intensive care for so long but he was excited to be  here to hear his boy heart beat and although they didn't know the gender of the child yet, he felt in his heart that he was about to have a little man on his hands and he was just gonna keep thinking it into existence.

"What you thinking about?" Giselle asked, knocking him out of his train of thought.

         "Nothing. My little boy."

She rolled her eyes and let out a little chuckle. They've been going back and forth about the sex of the child since she found she was pregnant. "You still thinking it's a boy huh?"

"Because it is." He replied, and placed his hand on her little pudgy stomach. She was three months and barely showing, because that's how small she is but Carter couldn't wait for her to blow up. He loved the thought of her carrying his first child, while other men would've been scared he was ecstatic to be having a little one on the way and really couldn't wait. And Giselle feelings were the exact same way, and it was a surprise for Carter to be as happy as he was when she broke the news to him but she was more than glad that she had his support and he wasn't nonchalant about the situation that was taking place.

She then placed her hand on top of his. "It's a girl and I know it because I'm having hella morning sickness."

"Well no shit Sherlock, your pregnant you're suppose to have morning sickness regardless."

They playfully argued on the subject with one and another, and the nurse finally called for Giselle.

    "Giselle Hamilton!"

"That's me." Giselle got up and grabbed the handles to Carters wheelchair and began wheeling him to the back where the nurse was standing in the door way with a clip board in her hand.

"How are you guys today?" She asked with a smile.

Giselle grinned back in response. "We're doing great. Excited to be here, thank you."
