"Hi mom, I'm home" I closed the door behind me. I took off my sweater and put it away with my bag on the couch. Mom walked out of the kitchen she wiped her hands on the back of her jeans and tucked her hair behind her ear. I was struck, for a minute there. Mom looked so beautiful. Like, ten times more beautiful than her usual self. I hugged her immediately when she held out her arms."make-up? Perfume?" I smirked."your grandmother is coming over tonight" mom stated with a smile. We walked to the kitchen."so what are you cooking?" I asked, my curiosity is smelling something good.
"Chicken ravioli" mom said whilst chopping the chicken in cubes." My favorite" we said in unison. We laughed." Will why are you here today -" "Mom it's Friday" I cut her off." I'm not finished...." She said sternly. I shrugged a sign for her to continue."why are you here today....so early?" She repeated the question."oh...hah" I scratch behind my neck. Mom walked to the stove and turned it on. She turned to look at me and raised an eyebrow."I...class was over early today. So I decided to go home" I said honestly." No hang out with your guy friends? Sophia?" Mom has taken some interest of my 'friends issues' ever since I went to college."No...Elijah is home early as well to visit his dad. John is not going anywhere this weekend. And the rest is at home with their parents" I said as I walked to the fridge to get some juice." Oh and before I forgot Sophia is coming over tonight for dinner. If you don't mind...?" I asked. Me and Sophia started dating since early last year. She's a really kind and nice girl. I met her when I was in the composing class, when she's the first person I talked to when I got here. She helped me wrote my first song. It was our song." Yeah of course, I missed. Haven't seen her in a long time" she smiled." Yeah last Christmas" I stated." How are things with the two of you?" Mom smirked." Yeah okay...things have been good" I said." How about that new friend of yours umm...Luke his name?" She asked." His not my friend. His my archenemy. He freaking hates me" I rub my temple." Language" mom warned." Sorry" I muttered." You should try and befriend him alright" she's giving me her famous hope look." Love your enemies" she smiled and disappeared into the living room. She highlighted grandma's ever famous line.Luke. Luke Robert Hemmings. That dude hates me since freshmen year, yes we went to the same high school. I myself don't favor him much either but I really don't want to make enemies with people as much as possible. He might have a thinking like I do about this because by the look of his face, he doesn't seem so bad. His face makes him look approachable but the way he appeared to be surely does not. Probably his "bad boy aura" tells him to hate me, at least that's what Sophia used say. I could've sworn I've never create any problem/scene with him. In fact, he's the one who did with me. Once he tried to pick a fight with me. He provoked me by flirting and trying to court my girlfriend." Will can you help me by placing the plates the dining table" mom shouted from the kitchen interrupting my thought."yeah sure" I walked back to the kitchen and took the plate and glasses.
"Hi Willy!" The first thing I hear when I opened the door." Grandma" I smiled and hugged her." My boy! Look at you! So handsome! Willy you're so tall! You've grown!" She gasp at every compliment." You look just like your father when he was your age" she caressed my cheek. I smiled again and led her inside. I miss dad when she mentioned of him."grandma sit down, I'm going to upstairs to get mom" I helped her sit down and rushed upstairs." Mom, grandma is here" I knock on her door." I'm coming, tell her I'll be down in a minute" she said." Alright" I muttered and went downstairs to the living room." Oh honey! Someone called you" grandma handed me my phone. The caller ID : Sophia. I slide the phone unlock and answered the call.
"Hello? Sophia"
"Hey Will, I'm just letting you know that I'm stuck in traffic for awhile now"
"Oh, approximately how long will you take to reach my house?"
"Now is 7. I'll be there in 30"
"You can start the dinner without me"
"No. We'll wait"
"It's okay you can start first. Anyways send my regards to your mom. Love you"
"Alright. Bye. I love you"
I hung up."Was that Sophia?" Grandma smirked. I nodded and chuckled."she sounds like a nice girl" she stated with a smile. I laughed,"she is...anyways how can you hear our conversation?" I'm quite far from her."look, I may be old but hearings aren't that bad" she said."true" I shrugged." What did I miss?" Mom joined us."nothing" I shove my hands in my pocket."mom!" Mom hugged her."Hi Clara you look beautiful" grandma smiled." Mom Sophia said she's going to run slightly late. She said it's okay to start without her" I said." Alright then" mom said. We walked to the dining table to get ready for dinner.
"Hello" her voice was heard in unison with the knock on the door. It's half past 7, it's her." I'll get it" I threw the napkin on my lap aside and walked to the front door." I'm sorry! I'm--" I cut her off by pecking her lips and hugged her. She smiled and followed me inside to the dining table." I'm sorry, I'm late Clara" she hugged mom and backed away when she heard grandma "coughed". Grandma... "Sophia this is my grandma. Grandma, Sophia" I introduced them."hello Mrs. Lingard" she smiled. Grandma hugged her. Grandma is a hugger since I can remember." Oh dear, Call me grandma Jane" she gave her famous smile. She likes her." Sophia dear, sit down" mom said. Then we continued the dinner. We're having typical conversation of what's going on, what we're doing right now and stuffs. We tried to include Sophia in our conversation as much as possible, especially grandma."So, Sophia...what are you currently studying? In Berklee right?" Grandma asked." Yeah, same as Will here. But I'm currently a vocal student" she explained."oh so you can sing?" Grandma pushed the topic further. She nodded awkwardly, "Yes...I guess?" She smiled sheepishly." Would you mind--" "no need for that, Grandma" I cut her off. I knew what she's going to ask her.
"Well it's 9 already . I guess I have to go now" Sophia said." Thanks Clara for the lovely dinner" she walked to mom and hugged her. Mom smiled and nodded." A great pleasure meeting you Mrs.--Grandma Jane" she hugged her as well." The pleasure is all mine dear"." Goodnight" she waved goodbye and I walked her outside to her car.
"Thanks for inviting me"
"Sure. Of course"
"Sorry about my grandma and all her "Grandma Jane" things" I add
"It's okay" she laughed.
"Okay"
"I like her. She's cute"
"Really?" I'm surprised
"Yep...just like you" she pinched my cheek playfully.
"I love you"She's leaning against her car. I leaned in and hold the small of her back. She leaned in. And we kissed. The kiss was passionate. It feels like a long time ago since we did this. Kissed like this. In college, we're not really a fan of PDAs. We don't do it often. But when we have the chance to, we'd take it. Her hands run through my hair. I backed away for a bit since we're both lightly out of breath." I love you too" she said and got in her car. She reversed the car." To be continued" I smirked." To be continued" she pulled down the car window and returned my smirked. And we waved goodbye.
A goodnight indeed....

Hey. So this the second chapter. I really hope you enjoyed it. The picture above (above if you're reading mobile and I'm updating using my IPad) it's a picture of Will's mother. Sally Field as Clara Lingard. I'm still working on the cast for Will's grandmother (don't be shy if you have any suggestions! Just comment). Still be patient if you're waiting for Luke's part. He will show up in a big scene I promise. Chapter 3 is coming up tomorrow. I'm going to update daily. Anyways, don't forget to vote and comment!
