FELIX AWOKE FROM his serene dream state in a rather relaxing way, not what he would have thought from his last party. He thought he would awake with a throbbing pain in his head, electric bolts racking through his head in waves, not softened by the blaring white pills.
Yet the soft scent of apricots drifted through his senses, mind hazy and full of fog.
Even after he woke up properly, cogs beginning to whirl and eyes finally snapping to stare at the cream ceiling.
The overwhelming scent of freshly glazed apricots was prominent straight from his accented yellow pillow, making Felix cuddle into the soft fabric, nose burrowing into the delightful, subtle scent.
It was oddly comforting, warmth wrapping his body in a smothering cuddle.
Pulling out a thin leg, coldness attacked it like a swarm of piranhas, nibbling and wrapping his muscles in an ice blanket.
The cold instilled him with fear, why wasn't he dressed?
Pulling his torso out of the constricting blanket, satisfaction enveloping him at the sight of a buttoned-up shirt wrapped out his dainty shoulders.
It wasn't his own shirt.
He didn't own a black, flowing button-up, especially one that was scented with Apricots.
But he did recognise it on someone.
A slim torso, tight midnight shirt clinging to toned abs, bottom tucked into dark ripped jeans.
A charming, goofy smile just above a tight collar, so close to a suffocating choker, lacy, coal, sexy~
Changbin's
Flutters ran through his stomach, smiles flirting over his lips.
Of course, how could he forget!
Forget the soft, gracing touches of the others skimming fingertips.
His head flopped back onto his cream pillow, a relaxed sigh racking his lungs in true contentment, allowing himself to be submerged into the gentle scents.
A wide smile had taken refuge in his facial expression, happiness causing his body to shake and shiver before he embarked on the idea and began to jiggle his body in the bed as a way to express his internal happiness.
After his expression session, he decided to pick himself out of the welcoming covers to the bright light of the direct sunlight, mindset on finding the thief of his heart.
Padding down frozen steps, he couldn't contain his disgust and disdain at the sight of vomit stained stairs, mess of drunken people and spilt paper cups.
What had happened at the party? God...
Even the smell of apricots was overpowered by the poignant scent of vomit and thick sweat.
Yet that wasn't on his mind as his eyes scanned the room for a certain Male.
Maybe he was in the kitchen? Like those cliche books?
Felix pondered as he took a few tentative steps towards the kitchen, only to hear the low, worried voices of Woojin and Chan.
"....Cafe.....Changbin.....Tell" was the three words he could distinguish between the wooden door.
For some odd reason, he felt as though he was intruding on a conversation he shouldn't be in, so instead of pushing open the door and asking, he decided to simply go get changed and head to the cafe.
It was the only idea he had.
—🍥—
He didn't even bother to change fully, simply pulled on a pair of tight fitted jeans, tucked the black shirt into the blue denim and wrapped a constricting, midnight belt around his timid waist.
He simply hoped Changbin didn't recognise the shirt as his own, despite wearing it the day prior.
Wandering feet took him down to his usual path, converse shoes thumping delicately in a fast manner.
Excitement was bubbling like a witches cauldron, starting off soundless and eventually resulting in a song bursting from Felix's soft lips.
"Mary, Mary quite contrary-
He rounded the corner of his favourite bar.
"How does your garden grow?"
He reached the final corner, eyes closed in merry joy.
"With silver bells and cockle shells"
Voice dainty, eyelashes fluttering open.
"And pretty maids all in a row"
Yet it wasn't maids to his horror, but instead, it was a row of firefighters. Loud wails of the siren beckoning onlookers like fish to water, but Felix didn't acknowledge them.
The fire was over.
Of course, it was, no blazing orange or violent crimson dancing in spirals. But instead, dark coal ashes acted as the sand to the ocean of people.
Salty, the sea was very salty but not because of it being saltwater but because of the salty, sorrowful tears that escaped tear ducts in savage sobs.
Felix's perfect face turned devastated. Eyes turned bloody, tear ducts crimson and eyebags a deep marine. Dark black tracks ran down his cheeks like memories running down the ages, sobs still echoing through his own foggy ears.
Knees trembled, numbness spreading from his thick heart down to his thin shins, crashing down onto his delicate knees.
Head tilted towards the dark gravel, hands cupped his shaking head, trying his best to cover his tear damaged face.
He could feel a soft hand rest on his shoulder and a tilt of his head showed it to be a tear beaten Hyunjin, his own eyes foggy and distant.
Pulling him to his feet, the pair wandered forward, fingers clenching around hyunjins shaking hand as a way to establish mutual pain.
They trekked and trekked, pushing past the police tape to the shouts of angry policemen but they both pushed into the burnt ashes of their home, dropping down to their knees, arms encasing each other.
"Surprise!" Hyunjin and Felix's eyes were uncovered to the sight of a homey cafè, walls unpainted and stripped and cobwebs dressing the corners.
They couldn't contain their cries of excitement.
Months of painting and decorating went into their first Cafe, walls bright blue and floor white. It started off as an ice cream store.
Then it was a bar
Then it was a pie shop
Then finally it was their Japanese restaurant, for 3 years.
3 years.
It started slow, tears couldn't mend their popularity and at the end, it eventually sped up to the well-versed cafe it was now.
It was their home.
They celebrated Christmas there, had marked their heights on the wall and had pictures adorning the wall.
Now it was ashes, each ash could resemble one of their memories, but they didn't.
They were only broken ashes.
What had happened to their miso soup?
