The Party

It was just beginning to turn fall, the leaves were starting to change and the weather was getting colder. Not like the weather makes a difference up here in Montana, the hottest month this year was in July at a whopping 67 degrees. Fall is perhaps my favorite time of the year, it brings me peace seeing the leaves change and the smells of fall bring so much joy to my heart.

I'm two months into my junior year of college, currently studying interior design. I aspire to be one of the best and most sought after designers in the country. I attend Montana State University here in Bozeman Montana, where I have a two real friends and my parents. My best friend, Anna Grace, and I have been friends since we were 4 years old, we have done so much together. She is studying to be an architect. Our dream is to open up our own business, I design the houses and she builds them. We also have Clay, he's been in our group since we were 12. He is studying to be a teacher and his boyfriend is studying to be a nurse.

We are the dream team of friends, shopping on the weekends, vacations all over the country, dinners, girls night outs. We have so many scrap books full of our adventures.

"Hey Hadley!" I turn to see Anna Grace running towards me. She spent the weekend in Arkansas to visit her family. Her dads in the Air Force and stationed in Little Rock. She started living with us when we were 10 since her dad was going to be stationed in England for awhile. I greeted her with a huge smile as she jumped for a hug, creating an embarrassing moment since we both fell on the floor. "How was your weekend?" I asked. "It was great" she responded "it's always nice spending time with my parents and seeing all the hot single airmen on the base". Anna Grace was a bit promiscuous, and loves attention from men. She dated here and there but found committed relationships were not her thing while in college, but I know she will meet someone one day that will change that. I also found myself not serious with anyone while in college. I wanted to focus more on my studies, but every now and then I'd entertain the idea of a nice dinner and evening with one of our star football players, Ryan Asher. Ryan is a senior and our star running back. He's about 5'11, with dark brown hair, a full sleeve with scriptures, rosemary's and thorns on his left arm and beautiful green eyes. He has a nice muscular build too which makes him so much more attractive. I have had a thing on and off with him since I was a senior in high school. He is that player/fuck boy type and I've seen so many hearts broken by him, and that is why I'll never get serious with him. I don't want to be one of those girls. I do feel it's different with me because anytime I ask if he wants to hang out he blows off the boys to come see me, whether it's just eating dinner at my apartment and watching movies or going out on the town. Apart of me does love him, but the other part is afraid of him.

Tonight is the rivalry game against Montana University, on home game nights the football guys will choose a girl to wear their away jerseys to the game(pretty much girls they want to hook up with that night) and Ryan always gives me his. We don't hook up every time but sometimes we do. Saturday game days at home are the best days, tailgating, alcohol and football, what better way to spend the day. I spent the night with Ryan at his house last night, and I have no regrets about it. I love spending time at his house. His parents died his freshman year of  college, no one to this day knows what happened to them. They were found by the Gallatin River, leaving Ryan with their wealth. He bought a beautiful mansion out here in the middle of nowhere, it's quiet and secluded. The entrance is a little creepy because it's so wooded and dark if you don't know your way around it's easy to get lost. Ryan has asked multiple times if I would like to move out here with him and be with him but I have declined each time. Being in those woods makes me feel so uneasy, there's a huge barn in the back that Ryan never lets me go into, he says it's because it's so old he doesn't want it collapsing on me. I'm still curious about it though, also there is a room in the house that is always locked and the only room I haven't been in. There is a feeling in the house that just makes me feel different towards it. Ryan has cameras at all entrances of the house, and coming down the road to the house, he also has security guards at the entrance but they are not allowed to come to the house unless called out there.
