"Dad, I have something to tell you." I stood in front of him, scared to death.

"Well Ryan, how about we just go upstairs and do that thing, with the thing." Vanessa said. I glared at her. Ryan and her ran up the stairs.

"What is it Hillary?" Dad said to me. Oh dear, I'm so scared.

How do I put this. Dad I had a party last night. No. Dad, I broke your trust last night by having a party. Ew no. Dad, I'm sorry, but I had a party last night without your permission.

"Earth to Hillary." dad said waving his hand around. "What do you want to tell me?"

"Um dad," I'm scared, I'm scared, I'm scared, I'm scared. "I kind of, had a party last night." I said slowly and quietly. Dad spit out his coffee.

"You what? Hillary, I can't believe you'd do that. Do you know how dis--" "I know, I know. But it wasn't only my idea. Conner was in on it too." I blurted. And why did I do that? I was trying to be the bigger man.

"Conner, you did what?" This time Julie said. "Conner Mathew Thomas, I am ashamed." Julie said. She used his full name. Wow, she must be mad. Wait, make it ashamed.

"And you Hillary. You didn't stop him? I thought you were the more responsible one. You really broke my trust." Julie said to me.

"I know, I'm disappointed in myself too." I said to her. "So what's the punishment?" I asked to dad.

"You're grounded, for a week. No, friends over, no car, and no TV." he said to me. He didn't say mall though. "And no going out either unless it's for work or school." And there goes my chances.

"Same to you Conner." Julie said.

"But wait Julie, Conner's just new to the family, he's not sure of the rules. I think we should let him off with a warning." Dad said. How did I know this was going to happen.

"So? How would this be fair to Hillary? Why should she be going on this punishment alone, when Conner was a part of it?" Julie replied to dad.

"She's right dad. This isn't fair. Conner can go out but I can't? If you're going to punish me punish me half the week. That way I can go to the mall." Did that last sentence just slip out of my mouth. I know what's next.

"Hillary Kate Thomas! Does this look like a joke to you? What you did was just bad! Do you know how much of an aff--"

Julie cut dad off. "Jim, calm down. There is no need to yell."

"Wait, dad. Julie wanted us to bond right? Well this was bonding. We were basically together the whole time. We were bonding basically till 3 AM dad." This should do the trick.

"She's right Jim. This party was just another was to bond. And Hillary, Conner. This is the only time I'm letting you get away with this. Next time, it'll be a lot worse."

"Thank you Julie." I said to her, gave her a smile and walked up the stairs.

As Conner and I were walking towards our rooms, he said "You're lucky."

"What?" I asked him.

"If you hadn't gotten me out of this mess, I would have ruined your life."

"Woah, woah woah. Let's remember, I got you out of this."

"Yeah, and you also put me in it." he said turning to his room.

"Yeah but, you weren't going to tell them the truth. And the truth had to be told."I said turning into my room.

"Just shut up. This is all your fault. You don't know my mom. I have to gain her trust back."

"Oh and you think it's easier with my dad? He was only being nice because you were part of it. If you weren't there, then I'd be grounded for a month." I said jumping into bed.
