Fly {Dreamcatcher}

Gahyeon ran barefoot through the city, ducking the jets of fire that raged above her.

They called me a traitor. Everyone.

Tears glimmered on her cheeks.

I have to get Dami. Even if I die here, I can't let her have that fate. I'll carry her forever if I must.

Looking up ahead, she saw she was about to run into an alley.

I have no choice. I must transform.

Taking a deep breath, she leaped into the air, willing all of herself into her transformation. Scaly wings sprouted from her shoulders and more scales shingled over her body, flaring into claws where her fingers and toes were as her body grew bigger and bigger. She stopped the transformation when the scales began to creep up her neck, as she wanted Dami to recognize her, instead of thinking she was one of the dragons that wanted to kill her... which was basically every dragon but Gahyeon.

The dragon on her tail hissed at her, "Come back here, Gahyeon, so we can torture you!"

"Never, SuA, never!"

"Your human mate has no hope! We are going to tear her apart!!"

"No! You won't touch her! Ever!"

At the same time, both of them cast their senses out and they found Dami. SuA and Gahyeon then banked in the air and flew towards the center of Seoul at top speed.

Everything was in chaos and due to the dragons' brutal attacks, almost everything was on fire. Gahyeon felt her heart crack as she gazed over it all.

This is my fault...

Dami was stuck in the middle of a burning pile of rubble, screaming in agony as the flames blistered her skin. Gahyeon dived down and managed to grab her, but not before SuA's claw sliced down Dami's side.

"AHH!!" Dami shrieked.

"Hey, hey, baby, it's me!" Gahyeon exclaimed. "I'm going to keep you safe, but now that you know it's me, I need to switch to full dragon form to fly faster."

"Ngh..." She groaned in reply. "O-okay..."

Gahyeon let scales go up her neck and close over her head, the pupils of her eyes dilating and turning gold as her dragon head finished its form with spikes on the back of her neck.

"Gahyeon... Gahyeon... ow, ow, this hurts..."

Sighing, Gahyeon adjusted her claws so she was covering her sweetheart's wound, and increased her speed and height. Dami's body was so small in her claws that it all broke her heart. Her blood was beginning to stain her talons and Gahyeon was starting to panic.

"Stay with me, Dami!" she growled, trying to avoid snorting smoke into Dami's face. "We can't let them win!"

"Ah... ah... G-Gahyeon... Gahyeon-ah... I don't think I'm going to survive this... let them kill me..."

"Never!" Gahyeon turned her head and blasted a jet of fire at the pursuing SuA behind her. But SuA dodged the fire and as four other dragons joined the chase, Gahyeon's breathing began to grow faster. Her stamina was already running out.

"Give her to us!" JiU roared.

"NO!!" Gahyeon banked.

"YES!! This is her fate for seducing a dragon!" Yoohyeon bared her and her friends Siyeon and Handong joined her, SuA, and JiU as they all shot a gargantuan flame at Gahyeon. She scrambled to avoid it, but the fire slammed into her side. It wasn't hot enough yet to penetrate the hard scales, but it did its intended job and knocked Dami from her grasp.

"NOOOOOOOOOO!!" Gahyeon dove down to her, but Handong's talons grasped her leg and attempted to pull her back. "DAMI!"

Using her expert hearing, Gahyeon blanched as she heard Dami whisper, "Gahyeon, I love you. Escape from here... and find happiness without me..."

"DAMI!!"

Handong slashed her chest open and Gahyeon roared in as blue blood poured out of it.

"No..."

The thump in her ears was excruciatingly agonizing, especially because she knew it meant Dami had hit the ground. Handong released her, but instead of flying away, Gahyeon let herself fall, only spreading her wings to slow it. She landed next to Dami and immediately reverted into her human form. JiU, SuA, Yoohyeon, Siyeon, and Handong circled above them.

"Dami...?"

"G-Gahyeon?" Dami whimpered, reaching out to her as blood filled her throat. "Baby...?"

"Dami, hold on..." Clutching at her blue-soaked chest, Gahyeon crawled over to her. Her blue blood mixed with Dami's red between them, creating a ghastly puddle.

"I can't, I can't!" Red soaked Dami's body; the fall had destroyed her.

"You have to... for me..."

"Gahyeon, fly. Fly for help. Find other dragons who can help you or you'll die in human form. Fly, Gahyeon. Leave me."

"I can't... Dami, I love you."

"You know I won't make it here..."

She vomited scarlet and coughed violently.

"Go."

Dami's eyes closed and her chest stilled.

"Oh, Dami..." Gahyeon wept quietly over her lover's body, unwilling to believe that the human girl she'd grown to love was gone.

So do what she said. Follow her last wish. Fly.

Responding to her own thoughts, she gathered Dami's body into her arms and kissed her lips softly for the last time. As soon as she pulled back, she transformed back into her dragon form, noting that she was now definitely bleeding a lot less than as a human. Her head shot up as she saw Handong, JiU, SuA, Siyeon, and Yoohyeon dive at her.

Gahyeon took to the air and left the Seoul skies for the last time.
