As she neared the bus stop, Izzy recognized a familiar face. A skinny, tall girl with blonde hair and violent green eyes. Sarah Hunter, immediately ran up to Izzy once she saw her. Izzy smiled as she drew closer to her friend, embracing her in tight hug.

"Didn't think I'd ever see you again," Izzy smiled. "Still can't believe you decided to leave me for THREE WHOLE MONTHS!"

Sarah laughed, "Oh shut up you big baby, you know I would've stayed if I could! It's not my fault my father is crazy and randomly decided to ship me off to London for the summer."

Izzy stepped back and readjusted the straps of her backpack, "How was that? Where there any cute boys? Please tell me you're not pregnant! I swear if you slept with a random hot British guy . and got pregnant-"

"I swear I'm not pregnant, but the boys were probably some of the most gorgeous specimens alive!" Sarah laughed as she combed through her long blonde hair.

Sarah was gorgeous, kind, and outgoing. Izzy had the luxury of meeting her during a middle school summer camp. Since both had a hard time getting to know people, they spent the week telling each others darkest middle school secrets, crushes, and dreams. Despite Sarah now going to parties, kissing random boys, and gaining some popularity during junior year, the two had still been inseparable.

Izzy groaned, "Ready for the last year of hell?"

Sarah rolled her eyes, "More like the year where you actually enjoy yourself... You know I have been wanting to take you to some get-togethers."

"Sarah! You can't be acting like my dad right now, you know I-"

With a groan, Sarah complained, "Have to get into Harvard so you don't turn into a hobo who jumps trail cars and travels the country living off nothing but what you pickpocket from people off the street, am I correct."

Izzy crossed her arms and groaned, "EXACTLY! I've made it this far, I can't break any of the rules on my list and what they represents now..."

An awkward silence set in. Izzy knew that Sarah wanted her to get out more, just like her father had wished, but she couldn't ruin her reputation. Nothing would stand in her way of good grades, habits, and choices. Eventually, the bus pulled in, saving the two from the awkward mood.

"Finally the bus is here," Sarah giggled. "C'mon, we can't be late to our first, last day of school!"

The bus proved long and bumpy. The familiar faces that appeared upon every stop caused Izzy's heart to sink. The smiles and laughter eventually caused the tranquil bus to turn into a full blown hurricane of shouts and foolish gimmicks. Although almost everyone greeted Sarah,  it was Izzy who seemed to be an invisible roadblock that stood in the way of an easy conversation. As Sarah talked to new and old faces, Izzy sunk to the back of her seat and laid her head against the window. The small town turned to a blur as the bus left its final stop and begin a full speed pace to school.

"Finally here," Sarah grinned as she stepped off the bus, "I can't believe it's our last day here..."

Izzy slowly trudged off the bus in an attempt to think of any last minute escape plans. The beautiful stone building that stood in front of her proved to be daunting. "Welcome back to Evermore High," Izzy sighed. The familiar large fountain that stood in the middle of the front courtyard homed excited students. The courtyard was filled with warm embraces, a few exciting screams, and annoying taunts from boys.

"Thank god it's our last day here," Izzy groaned as she adjusted the straps to her backpack filled with heavy books and school supplies.

"Oh c'mon grumpy pants, if you look at school in a positive way, it will make the days go faster, I promise," Sarah laughed. As Sarah said those words, a boy skated in front of the bus, nearly knocking Izzy off her feet.
