Secrets of the Fold

~Chapter 2~

This 'portal' thing catches my interest. What could cause such a thing to appear? Something is different, weird almost about the atmosphere. This portal has changed the aroma of the sky, and the clouds. The people on the other side looked just like the people here in our lands. It was strange.
Maybe the legend my mother told me was real, and the prophecy is coming true. Long ago, our world was brung into existence when all of the magical force was combined and condensed. Not many believe this tale and so the prophecy was made. The people were then worried that the world was in constant danger.
The prophecy said that once the two biggest kingdoms came to fight under no reason, the world would see the disastrous consequences. Now I have come to believe that this portal is our consequence for beings such fools.
    "Madam, how could you smell the difference?!" Said Rebecca curious. I look at her as I realize I had said my thoughts out loud. "It is hard to explain, and it must wait for another time alright." Rebecca nods, clearly upset. I see the look on her face and feel sympathetic.
"Shortly, I was born with very strong senses and so I am enabled to do what others cannot." Rebecca gave me a smile and we moved on. Out of nowhere I started floating up into the air, this was strange as Rebecca was not. I was being sucked up into the portal.
It was a strange feeling, as I was going up into the air. It was as if I was never going to see my world again. A wave of tears fell down my face and I silently said goodbye to my son inside the castle.
      As I was about to pass through the portal, the world started again. Not long after there was a raging fire devouring the lands I used to know. I look above me, or now below me to see people holding these little small rectangular boxes in their hands.
         I was now falling to the ground at a slow pace. I look back at the place of the portal to see that it is closing, my last view of the world I used to know. I had no clue what awaited for me in this world.
