So as I sit here watching, I feel useless.  I don't want to feel useless.  I just want to help Nova and Luna and everyone.  Though maybe not Meghan because she's giving me that look she constantly gives everyone around her.  The look that meant she thought that we were all freaks.  I despised that look more than probably natural, but I felt it important that she was looking at me.

"What do you want?" I snapped.  She looked like she had just realized what she was doing.

"I was just fascinated at your appearance, that's all.  I do hope your not mad at me," she replied.  At least, I think that's what she said.

I was furious.  She saw it instantly and put her so very normal hands up, like it would make her more innocent.

I wanted to tear her entire face off.  I growled a long, deadly growl.  Well, not deadly, but intimidating, and she tried to move away.  I saw Nova, now staring at our argument.  I didn't want to tear someone's face off in front of her.

And trust me, if she hadn't been there, Meghan's face would have been torn off by now.

But of course she was there.

Luna came rushing in with her fingers tightly clutching Blink's elbow.  His eyes were wide.

The door slammed shut.  Something slammed into the door.  It shook the ship and I grabbed the railing, my claws wrapping around the metal.

Nova stood up.  "What about Ruby?" she asked.  They both blinked.  Blink looked out the window of the door and gasped.

"There's no getting her back," he said and a tear dripped down his face.  Nova stood up and rushed over and looked out the window and a sob came from her throat.  She collapsed to the ground.

I rushed over and saw Ruby on the ground outside.  Her head was tipped to the side, her eyes shut.

A creature was hunched over her, it's teeth in her throat.  Blood was everywhere.

Wait, did she just open her eyes.  I presses the button to open the door.  It slid open and I dug my claws into it's throat and it let out a weep.  A squeal, it's scaly skin softening, like it had been a trick as well.

It's red eyes stared at me.  It was trying to figure me out, but it didn't know that I couldn't be controlled by sirens.  She flickered for a moment, looking like Nova, before collapsing in my claws.

     I let out a scream.

Ruby's eyes blinked several times quickly before they focused on me.  Gems were collecting around her neck, trying to stop the blood from escaping.

No, not just stopping it.  Healing her.  She coughed before I carried her from the ground.  I brought her back into the ship.

She passed out, but she was breathing.  The gems were still around her neck, glowing slightly.

"Banshee?" Nova asked, looking up from her sobs.  She looked from me to Ruby to the corpse of the siren.  Her face was stained with tears.

"How did you...?" she started before sniffling, getting up, and again kneeling next to her sister.  She touched her cheek before looking at me again.

"The siren's dead," I said, hopeful.  She nodded her head.  She was whispering the words "thank you" over and over again.  She looked over at me and wrapped her arms around my neck, her tears streaming over my skin.  I wrapped my arms around her.

"Is everyone here?" Luna asked.  She still held Blink's elbow, like it mattered, even with the door closed.  He looked at Luna curiously.

"Yes," Nova said, still sobbing, but in a different way.  Blink glanced at Luna before they both went back to their seats.

     We were moving on.
