Chapter 2
An Extremely Fright Filled Day
I woke up to the sound of my alarm beside my bed. On a usual Monday, I would grunt and ignore it. Not today, because today, I am particularly excited. I might have been overreacting, but I couldn't wait to see him. I loved how he was shy and awkward, but still cheeky.

I thought about my outfit carefully. In the end I had chosen: peachy pink shorts, a plain blue shirt paired with a floral scarf and sandals.

I walked towards the entrance to the school, stopping at the stairs. I'm not exactly sure what time he's coming. Thinking that I would have to wait a while, I whipped out my phone, and pressed the Instagram icon. Scrolling down, I saw a post from my best friend, Katelyn. A picture of her and her boyfriend. She would always try to get me dates. The last time she sent me out on a blind date, it didn't end well.

I scrolled down to see the next post, when a hand suddenly gripped my shoulder. Me being so evolved with my phone, didn't see them walk up behind me. I swung around and punched whoever it was.
My cheeks went bright red, when I realized that I had hit Matthew.

"I am so sorry!" I screeched grabbing his arm where I had hit him, checking for a bruise.

"Don't worry," he promised calmly, "you punch like a girl anyway," he teased, making my face even redder.

"Anyway," I said, acting annoyed with a sarcastic roll of my eyes, "you ready to go?"

"Yeah," he smiled shyly, but his tone filled with cheekiness.

After showing him around, I compared our timetables. We had all of the same classes, except for three.

"We have Math first," I pointed out, walking into a moderately sized classroom. The walls free of any posters.

We were the first people in there, so we sat down in the middle row of the class, him sitting to my right.

The bell rang to signal lunch. Matt have made a friend during history, so he was out of sight. Without thinking, I walked down the hallway, turned left and then right. Passing many students. I opened the cafeteria door and walked in, immediately searching for Katelyn.

A brunette with long, straight hair and brown eyes. I spotted her, at the table near the back. Her boyfriend, Stef, sitting next to her. He's a total jock, but the nicest one I've ever met. His brown hair and permanent smile, are two of the many reasons Katelyn loves him. As I walked closer, I saw that they were holding hands. Katelyn waved at me as I got close enough to her.

After I had explained everything to her about the dinner and Matthew, and how I felt a tingling sensation when he touched my shoulder. She looked excited that I finally liked someone. Then she blabbed on for half an hour about us going on double dates, sharing a limo for the prom, and getting married together. She has a pretty vivid imagination.

My mom's driver came to pick me up from school, and drop me off at riding. I jumped out of the black Mercedes and walked through Shadow Field's gates.

I walked up the cobblestone pathway to the tack room to get my tack, when I heard Vanessa call my name. I got a little panicked and walked briskly up to The Office.

"I didn't mean to scare you, sorry. I just saw you walking up." She apologized sincerely.

"No problem," I said, dismissing the fright I had.

"Fame hurt his leg today, I'm sorry,"

The fright came back. My heart pounding in my chest. My heartbeat heard loudly.

"Is he okay?" I managed to choke out. My throat pinching.

"Yes. The vet said that he just needs some rest. She gave me ointment to put on the cut,"

I let out an audible sigh of relief.

"Okay, thanks." I said, feeling much better.

"You can just relax for today, maybe groom him?"
