I woke up an hour later to my alarm slightly annoyed at the sudden interruption of my sleep, but then I remembered that I was going to Robin's house and rolled out of bed.

me: hey robin

curly boi🍓: heyyyyy

me: am I spending the night?

curly boi🍓: would your parents care

me: idk probably not

curly boi🍓: can you ask them

curly boi🍓: I don't want u to get in trouble

curly boi🍓: or me :)

I rolled my eyes and went downstairs to ask my dad because I knew he wouldn't care if I went to Robin's. "Hey dad, can I go to Robin's tonight?"

"As long as he picks you up and drops you off. I'm leaving soon on that trip with your grandpa and we both know your mother isn't going to make an effort to pick you up."

"Yeah I guess. I'll go tell him." I said walking back up the stairs and into my room.

I messaged robin and told him what my dad told me. Except for the stuff about my mom being an absolute bitc- my phone started ringing. It was Robin. "Hey I'm almost to your house. Are you ready to go?"

"Yea. How far are away are you?"

"Not too far. I'll be there in a couple of minutes."

"Okay see you in a bit then."

"Yeah. I need to talk to you when we get to my house, ok?"

"Why not now?"

"I'll see you soon." he said then hung up. Just then, the doorbell rang. I grabbed my bag I had packed and ran downstairs and to the door where Robin waited. Just as I grabbed the door handle, I heard my mom practically yelling "Where the hell do you think you're going?" I was going to talk but my dad interrupted.

"She's going to Robin's house."

"When did I say she could?"

"You didn't." he said and I silently slipped out of the house as they were arguing.

"Hey Robin." I said grabbing his arm and pulling him away from my house and in the direction of his.

"What was that about?" he asked as I started walking a little slower.

"Nothing, don't worry about it Robbie." I let go of his arm.

"Are you ok?" he said grabbing my wrist.

"Y-yeah I'm ok." I said.

"Can you let go please?" he was staring into my eyes.

"Oh. Yeah sorry." he let go of my arm and we walked the rest of the way to his house.

I held my arm as we walked into his house and to his room and I hoped he wouldn't notice that I was hurting.

When we got back to his house, I said hello to his mom and we went to his room.

ROBIN'S POV

When we walked into my room, she sat down on my bed and set her bag beside her. She looked at me and my stomach filled with butterflies. I sat down next to her and the feeling intensified.

"What did you want to talk about?" she asked.

"You." I said.

"Oh no. what did I do this time, mom." she joked. She placed her head on my shoulder, waiting for my response.

"I don't know. You've been sad recently and I wanna know why." I said.

"Nothings wrong Robbie."

"You can't lie to me you know." I said.

"I know that." she laughed.

"So what's up."

She sat up and hesitated before responding "It's just stuff with my mom. It's getting a lot worse and it just really sucks cus she's still always yelling at me and insulting me and invalidating me any chance she gets. She's also been yelling at dad and Reagan. She's moving out soon though. Lucky her."

"Your mom?"

"I wish. Reagan is. She's so lucky she gets to escape Godzilla."

"Shit that sucks."

"Yea, tell me about it." she said looking over at me.

An awkward silence settled between us until there we heard a knock at my door before it opened. It was my mom.

"Do you guys need anything? I'm gonna go to bed early, I've got a headache." she said.

"We're good. Thanks mom."

"Ok goodnight then." she said to us.

"Goodnight." I said back to her.

After my mom left, she turned to me.

"I could only wish that my mom could even be that nice."

"She doesn't say goodnight to you?"

"Not anymore."

Then we just talked about nothing for hours until we both got too tired to do anything.

"Hey Robbie?" she sounded really tired.

"Yeah?" I looked at her. She was laying on my shoulder again.

"Can I turn off the lights?"

"If you want to."

"Ok."

"Do you wanna go to sleep now?" I asked her after she turned off the lights.

"Yeah I guess." and we did.
